The only smart thing I did on the Dodgers game was to LAY OFF. They killed me yesterday and I am thankin' the almighty that I was not stupid enough to play them again tonight. :thefinger

I can see the stadium from my office in downtown L.A. and I think I can smell the stank of the Blue Crew from here. The best thing that could happen for them this year is a strike or a large earthquake centered under the Ravine.

that's how scoreboard watching was invented you can't win on your own. you can't beat sub 500 teams so you end up in the wild card eventually the teams you battling in the wild card keep winning to so not only are you battling in your divison but against a few other teams from other divisions. So every night when your playing outfield ie: shawn green dave roberts brian jordan your looking up on the scoreboard ha look the expos beat ny cin beat pits ......

I've seen most of the Dodger games this year. Other than better than average pitching and an excellent closer, it isn't a big surprise to anybody who objectively watched the Dodgers. They got almost every conceivable break a team could get in the first half of the season. Every bounce went their way. This kind of stuff turns around and with the Dodgers the turn around started with a few bad calls by the umpires. It has mushroomed from there. Look at their lineup top to bottom - outside of Lo Duca and Green, who causes concern? Karros? Getting rid of Sheffield may have helped the chemistry, but it didn't do much for a relatively weak lineup sorely lacking in power. Look for the Dodger slide to continue. Even if Kevin Brown comes back in a few weeks, they need bats. Perez has gone into the dumpster since the break and Brown would be lucky to duplicate the Perez performance in the first half. Ditto for Ishii. The league had a look at him and he isn't going to have a second half anywhere near his first. I believe that the relative weaknesses of the Giants and DBacks may keep the Dodgers in the race for a time, as none of these teams has the kind of depth to pull away from the others. But the Dodgers are clearly the weakest of the bunch and their inability to come from behind (1-41 when behind after eight innnings) makes it virtually impossible for them to be contenders in September.

Once again all of us here in Southern California get hyped and excited about the play of the Dodgers and Angels, and once again both teams look as if they are going to fade down the stretch! This freakin sucks!:shrug:

Wrong!!! Goodwin (not a dodger)hit a winning RBI and they lost again.
Do you know how many games they lost after the all-star game?
The dodgers do have some problems right now.
Be careful if someone is still trying to back them in the near future
games...............
