In just the past two days alone, I've had an incredible amount of shitty tough bs losses, capping off with Anaheim today.

I've been beaten with errors, tons of two out hits, etc

I had Buffalo 1st half (up 14-0 then tied, then miss a fg at the buzzer), St. Louis 2nd half (score 1st 10, then gag, then get down to the 20 and **** up), Kansas State 1st half (65 yard td with 2 minutes left), Tigers yesterday +1.5 (up the whole game, goto 10th and get smoked),

this is all just in the last two days.

i'm getting screwed and losing my ass and its killing me to lose cheaply and like this

I lose my ass on NYY friday and saturday, then i don't play them today and they win by 7. stupid stupid shit

how do you all deal with this crap??

Try holding pocket Aces in the cutoff spot when some jagoff with7-10 off suit calls your all-in bet and instantly catches 8-9-J. Anyway, think about the times you have caught a win you shouldn't have, I have been at this a long time and it really does even out over the long haul, I'm sure it doesn't feel like it now, but it does, anybody have the right side of the Boise St bowl game last season, that was an early Christmas gift. I have a nice green leather recliner in my game room that has spent as much time turned over as it has up-side right:D

i'm going thru it now..... for the last 5 months. seems like it will never end. but, when it does....it'll be a complete 180, i know it. happens all the time over the years.

just have a few :drinky: and try to keep your discipline with the money.

been there

been there

Before MJs was around I hung out at the old AOL boards where I met alot of great cappers. Anyway I had the worst NFL season of my life hitting in the 40% range. Luckily I had great people to help me through it and to talk me out of not giving up what I like to do best in my spare time.
Well to make a long story short.
The following season posting my 4 plays a day, I hit a stellar 68%.
I not only made major bank on straight bets that year but also got my share of contest monies in Vegas.

On the course!
I don't bet any serious cash on pre-season sports.

That's a good way to avoid a few of those losses.

I've been ice cold for over a year. This was after I was hitting well over 60% in the NBA a couple of years back. I had streaks where I would go 12-0, 10-0, 8-1 certain days. Losing nights were few and far between. Nowadays, it's one bad beat after another.

Today I posted my misfortune in the baseball forum. I bet 2 overs this afternoon. Wouldn't you know that 10 of the 1st 13 games today went over the total? I pick 2 of the 3 losers. That's just crazy if you ask me. Sometimes the streaks just have to ride their course or you need a break for a while.

I hope things turn around for everyone. Best of luck to all.

I dont like bullshitting and bitching about losses and the like, I feel it's unhealthy... But, being that I'm trying to pave my way in this harsh world, and make something of myself, in the only thing I truly love, sports and handicapping, lol I'll chime in....Take these for what you wish....sorry for my bad writing style, Im tired
1) Pre season nfl sucks. Im not saying this because Ive lost, it's just that a few things I have noticed.......I always try to outsmart myself, like last night took Bengals and Texans, when I vowed I NEVER would bet pre season...Texans up whole game, and some di*k head makes a fg to win for sd, then I bought hook line and sinker with stupid Berngals, and tennesee plays like its a regular season game, I cant win. It happens that MLB totals and NBA totals are my best things, but I took most of the summer off for personal things, and delved into MLB a short time ago after following it.......Only bad loss Ive had that I shouldve won was Yanks O 9.5 today..I figure, Yanks been silent last few days and Ive seen them a lot break out, I figured an 8-5 final or so, and I HATE mlb overs, I always look for Unders, but low and behold, 7-0 top 5, so I need 3 runs in 5 innings, and no more are scored,lol.......then I see Angels have scoired like 10 runs last few gms, so I go U today, and they keep scoring, and shields looks like a bum........Bottom line is, late august always kills me......I dont wanna damage my bankroll for college football and nfl, but nfl takes so damn long to start, its awful......If it gets to you which it always does to me no matter what, go step away, have a beer and go out with girlfriend, friend, anyone, and get ur head out the stupid bs of the games.......Thats best I can say, best wishes to all on a prosperous ftball season, even though no matter what, few ppl will turn a profit in this, it's a very tough endeavor where only the exceptionally disciplined/smart/lucky survive, best of luck

Whenever I hit a losing streak I take a shower and shave my legs. Then I put on my wife's red dress, go outside and lift up the hood of my car. Then I hike up the skirt a little and bend over with my legs spread and my head in the engine compartment.

The whistles and cat calls make me forget about losing.

Whenever I have a loss I just use the Vulcan Mind Torture Grip.

Ensures that the offending individual(s) do not get a good night of sleep.

Who said Vulcans have no emotions  :D

Mebbe stop betting for some time .. take a break .. cut down your units .. .

PRAY MORE AND PRAY HARDER

Dragon: I have a good feeling about the NBA this year. Also Hockey :)

Good luck to all

I did this when my way of life was playing the ponies and I believe it is about the only benefit you can gain from not only a tough loss, but any loss. Go back over your information and see if there is ANY reason you had the wrong side. You will be surprised what you might find out. Handicapping AFTER the result is a very instructive method of understanding the game. You will find that you may have a bias which is unconsciously affecting your selection; you may have seen something as a minor factor which in reality was a major factor, etc. With all that being said, sometimes there is NO logical reason to explain a loss. You must accept that. Then all you can do is laugh.

Pre-season ?

You mean there is football being played ?

Preseason games, what do they mean ? yep my sons tell me something about it saying jeez Dad you are so into the season, how can you not watch preseason games?

Well I did hear something about what 2 or 3 Qb's getting hurt for 6-10 weeks ?

Just hope my alarm clock goes off when the real thing begins.

It works for me I avoid pre=conceived opinions based on the pre-season games.

As Forest said that is all I have to say about that.;)

Go Habs Go!!
Discipline. It goes up, it goes down. But in the end, if you keep your discipline, you'll come out a winner over the long haul.

Best of luck! :)

Take Bong Hits

But that decreases my motivation to study the next day's games, and instead makes me gain weight by eating food late at night :nono: :nono:

The gym downstairs from us just put in a couple of body bags. I go down and pretend whichever pitcher or coach just effed me up is inside the bag. 5 good minutes on that thing and I feel a lot better.

Then I crack open a beer and get ready for the next game.
