Creamed corn and cream corn are two different things.

Cream corn is cut off the cob and fried with heavy cream or unsweetened condensed milk added as well as a thickening agent.

Creamed corn uses scraping from the cob and kernel corn that has been blended or processed as a thickening and boiled in either cream or buttermilk with a little bit of sugar.

At least that is the difference in my preparation of it. Just sayin.
