How does the NHL allow Stephen Walkom to ref Pens games?

He coached and might still be coaching Mario Lemieux's kid and Sidney Crosby's sister. Hmmm.......conflict of interest. There is a quote by him about 2/3 into the article stating he is their coach.

He did 2 games last series against Ottawa and there were many times when it seemed like he focussed on watching the Pens superstars to see if an infraction should be called against Ottawa.
In G3, he called 6 penalties on Ottawa and 3 on Pitt.

Oh and it was Walkom last night that made the horrible call in calling offsetting minors when the Hawks had scored!

Refs didn't matter in the OTT series anyways. Pens dominated all the games regardless of losing one.

Clearing stating facts here with regards to goof ball Walkom. I guess you are missing the point..........not being rude here, wrong tone can be set with words on these message boards......just stating he has no business reffing games in any Pitt series.....don't open yourself up to an NBA scandal like we had with Tim Donaghy......but Buttman doesn't get it.....pathetic commish!:facepalm:

back to back games for hawks-kings (okay, stones in concert fri mon...why not sun-tues g 1-2

back to back games in bos-pit series....GAMES 6 and 7......really....clinching on the line and they're going back to back??

then.....TWO GAME 7's.....on the SAME NIGHT???

wtf is the network and league going to do if that happens and bos-pit goes on and on in OT......nobody will ever see la vs chi???

I couldn't have said it better......very well said my friend! The two G7's on the same night is utter stupidity, oh but wait.......short ass buttman is running the league. Take a look at arena availability, there is nothing on those b to b nights in G6 and 7.....Pitt has nothing in their building except Sunday Arena Football......what a joke! I just explained in my other thread on the Pitt situation with Walkom how there was no need to start both series Saturday.....give your viewers the chance to watch all games in full.......not miss a period or 2 due to OT!:facepalm:

All good my friend! I would love to see Pitt and Chicago in the final........but hey, you cant complain as its only the 2nd time ever that we have the last 4 cup champions in the final 4.....gotta love that.......but would love to see the 2 teams that owned their conference this year meet for all the marbles! But man, they need to get louder at your home rink in Pitt. Honestly, at times I was thinking it was the Consol No Energy Center lol.

As a caps fan once sid was aboard I have always thought Pitt gets the benefit of the doubt more then other teams.
I noted my bias.
I thought the rangers were the benefit of calls as well in the caps series this year. I am a ref so I am very critical in this area.
