tennessee is playing for nothing, no matter how you slice it. is it coincidence that they were lethargic in the 2h of their last two games after clinching the sec east? i just see nothing about kentucky and alabama that leads me to believe either can win a tournament game. ron steele is a stud, but the tide has no bench whatsoever and every game, they go long stretches without scoring points. they deserve credit for keeping their season together after davis went down but i still dont see them winning a game in the ncaas.
Again, matchups will dictate whether some of these teams (and many others) win or not in the tourney, but by no means is either "horrible"
And by the way, Pearl made it "job #1" to beat UK and turn the thing back into a real rivalry, so I think there was something at stake

pearl is also in the process of teaching tennessee how to win. what he's done there has been remarkable, but every now and then (and sometimes within the same game) the vols revert back to being "the old tennessee" who can lose to anyone on a given night. not to get into semantics, but lets just say i dont think alabama or kentucky is particularly good. bama can't win in the tourney with a full team. not sure how they're going to win in the tourney sans davis. they could be bounced yet again by a midmajor. we'll see. still lots of basketball to be played.

The SEC will definitley get 6 in the tourney. Not syaing they deserve it or anything to that effect.
LSU, Fla, Tenn, Bama, Ark, and UK will all get bids. I think UK would have eiter needed to beat Fla or win the tourney to get in if they lost last night's game. Very important win for them.

IMO the SEC is definitely one of the top 3 conferences. Only time will tell how good they really are.
well for all sec haters were 9-4 i believe with two still standing i would say job well done for sec.
