just posted the same thing. floyd i can somewhat understand. wainwright hadnt shown the curve to him and it was a perfect pitch.

beltan did not. wainwright already showed it to floyd in a tough spot. if youre not looking for his out pitch in that spot, youre choking and dont have the right approach
I agree Beltran choked in that AB...but you guys are blaming him for this game? you've gotta be kidding me...2 hits into the 9th for the Mets vs Suppan is pathetic. Delgado and Beltran has carried the offense this entire series....Mets just did not bring their bats in this series...
game changed when Chavez made that great play in the top of the 6th...then bottom of the 6th they get the bases loaded and 1 out with Valentine...you've got to get that run in! would have changed the momentum in the game...and Heilman wouldn't be in there in the 9th...

Your down 0-2 in the count, you cant let that go by you, you go down swinging if anything, Beltran was not fooled on that pitch. He is a much better hitter then that and to not swing at that pitch was a joke.
I agree that Valentin was the bigger choker. But more importantly than that, does anyone else notice how much he looks like goblin? I mean, the combo of that mean-looking face, the moustache, and the ridiculously too-tight batting helmet pushing his ear out makes him look evil.
Beltran was frozen on that last pitch, he thought is was going to be low, it just fooled him. Wainwright has filthy nasty stuff.
