GMAN started a service, but it tanked quickly. I can still recall the hissy fits that Gman would have whenever someone would keep a record of his plays. He had some epic battles with Crack Rat when Crack Rat called him out about fudging his record stiffing folksl Before his service, I always thought GMAN was pretty good when posting large MAC plays, but his overall record was right along the juice line.
My father had a service for about twenty years back in the mid 70's. This was before the computer and I can still picture my dad sitting at the library every Monday during football season and reading all of the out of town sports sections for info on the coming week. On Tues, he would sit in his study and type out his plays for the week and then on Weds he would go to the post office and mail out volumes of letters to his clients with his plays for the week. I was too young ro recall much, but I do recall that one year, my dad had Purdue to beat Michigan outright asa large dog. Purdue won outright and I recall coming home from school on Monday and our front porch had overnight packages everywhere, as his clients had sent him everything from flowers to a vacation package to Hawaii. As I recall, my father did not charge very much for his service and just did it because he loved gambling on football. In his later years, he gave up the service and began to write a magazine on college football gambling and one on the history of NE Ohio high school football.
