I drive a stick and love it. Keeps u more involved and a greater sense of control. Also a good way to get more response from a four banger. It's a six speed Mazda 6 sedan. Great mileage too... Averaging 31.5mpg. Pretty cheap interior though...

You are right about feeling that you have more control. I miss it when I'm in traffic jams never or rarely have to use my brakes

Snafu need a job I'll hook you up but seriously there is such a shortage of drivers that companies for years have been recruiting in the eastern block nations, Mexico & Africa. Nobody wants to do anything semi-physical anymore in this country & the ones that fill out an application can't pass a drug screen or background check. You can make a good living as a driver.

Wondering..........can you put me on the books? I'm not interested in driving a truck, but a weekly check works? :0corn

Drove nothing but a stick until 1998

Like riding a bicycle, could probably drive one 17 years later with no problems

Love this ride. :0074
Would have been a ton of fun to own a manual A4. I actually test drove it twice at two different dealerships before settling on the BRZ. I was torn between the two and it was real close in the end.
Great car and fun to drive. I could definitely see myself owning one at some point in my life.

The reason I ask is our company has had to slowly purchase all automatics to get CDL B & Chauffeur drivers. Our CDL A Tractor- drivers obviously know but prefer automatic & I understand why.

My 2001 Ford Ranger that I use for hauling wood for my fireplace and fall leaf cleanup/Spring garden planting is a stick shift.

Owned a mazda 626 5 speed stick shift. 33 MPG and I put 265,000 miles on it before it died. Replaced the timing belt at 145K and never replaced the clutch. Great car. Mostly highway miles obviously, as I drive 25K a year for work.
