Utah, Boise St, BYU, etc etc etc should have the RIGHT to play for the championship but because there is no playoff, arguments like this will happen over and over again.

if they had and 8 team playoff this wouldnt happen.

They were talking about the BCS shools and BCS bids on ESPN radio this morning. The BCS schools have the most money invested so they get the best shots at the most pay outs, like the BCS bowls. Even if a school doesn't schedule the best teams, being in a BCS conf, is a step closer to the Championship game.

Remember back in the day when going to a bowl was an accomplishment. Now it is a disgrace if you don't make a bowl game.

Yes!!!! Yes!!!! Yes!!!!!

Bowl Games, (when there were like 6 of em) MEANT SOMETHING.... ROSE BOWL was Pac 10 Big 10.... Period. Didnt matter ranking as much. What happened to those days... Now, they try to have championship team, that usually shouldnt be it.

Utah's coach didn't even think they should be number one last year, so how can you. He voted them number 3 not 1 or even 2.

I didn't read this entire thread, but....

at the end of last year I would have voted Utah #1. They went into SEC territory and ripped Alabama. They were the only undefeated team. They deserved #1.

I'm not saying they were the best team. However, with the system we have you have to vote them #1.

They beat a really good TCU team. Won at Michigan. Beat Oregon State. Kicked the shit out of Alabama. They beat BYU too. Its bullshit they got no respect. Some of the undefeated teams in the past I would have not considered but they played some tough teams.

In the coaches poll, Utah finished fourth and earned one first-place vote courtesy of head coach Kyle Whittingham, who vowed after the Sugar Bowl to vote Utah No. 1?despite his obligations as a member of the American Football Coaches Association to vote the winner of the BCS title game in the top spot.

I think Mountain West fans had a reality check this weekend... Utah was beaten fairly soundly by an average Oregon team. BYU was taken out to the woodshed and beaten to a bloody pulp by Florida State, the same FSU team that nearly lost to Jacksonville State last week. TCU struggled with Texas State... yes, Texas State for 3 quarters before pulling away in the 4th quarter.

Also, New Mexico, Wyoming, & San Diego State are downright pathetic and they would finish dead last in any BCS conference.

But, folks, I at least, was speaking of last year and what we did, and the bickering of SEC is best, NO BIg 12 is, blah blah blah... Some of you know, that I went to U of M from 88-93 and in 88 Mich was #2 and N. Dame #1.... The days of the Rose Bowl meaning something.. Big 10 vs Pac 10.... Ishmail the Rocket earned his rockets early in the season at the Big House that year.. And proved they were #1 during the year.... What I am getting at, IS THERE A REAL #1 TEAM THAT HAS EMERGE FROM ANY CONFERENCE THIS YEAR???? All the top teams have lost, almost lost to shit teams, or only beaten shit teams....

WHO IS 1-3 right now... in your guys' opinion... No computer pts, NO BCS BULLSHIT, just difficulty of schedule, and pts scored when won (blowouts help), and domination at home/road....

A true fan of college foot's number 1, right now, which 2 teams would you like to see for the championship and why?

I finally see someone else agrees with me... Thanks.

A long way to go after just 3 weeks, which is just 2 games for some teams and a lot of cupcakes been played too...

With preseason hype and first 3 weeks....I'd say I want Florida vs Texas

Florida is obvious #1 and I can't see them losing before January. If Texas loses, it will be a mad scramble full of controversy (might be anyway) just like every other year.

TCU has started out slow in both their games this year. But let's call a spade a spade. Fl St struggled with Jacksonville St, Iowa struggled with Northern Iowa, etc... Can't get up for all the games. Especially when your looking ahead to the next game. Evey conference has it's good weeks and bad weeks. Writing off the MWC after one bad week is ridiculous.
