How Much Do you Tip the Pizza Man?

Just curious, since I have been involved in the business...

How much do you tip the pizza delivery driver on a $20.00 order, assuming your pizza is on time or not much later then the quoted time on the phone...

My first reading at 5 in the morning was a math error. When ordering a Pizza for myself it never totals $20, it's always a $16.00-$17.00 pizza in which it's a keep the change. When family ordered last time it was $28.00 and my daughter gave $35 (5/10/20)

This sounds crazy but it often depdends on what I have in my wallet -- denomination wise. Say I've got $43 on hand, two 20's and three singles, I'd just give him the singles and not worry about breaking another bill. If it were less than 3 on hand I'd break it and give him 4 or 5 bucks.

Doesn't make a lot of sense but not much I do does.

dont know if you remember the one where the pizza guy gets jacked by Darth Vader. too funny.

i think the other time the pizza guy actually kicks the shit out of the would be robber.

but the Darth one was too fuuny. he goes up to the car before delivery, and tells the driver that he is his father, with lightsaber in hand. :142smilie

Ordered 2 large cheese pizzas for the boys from Papa John's last night. Bill was $15.43. Gave him $21.00. They're young kids(usually) and I assume they work on tips only. Not even sure if they get reimburssed for gas. If I find out differently, I might adjust. I'll tell you one thing, they're never late.

BTW, I have food poisoning. Anyone ever had that? I haven't eaten since Thursday night and don't want to. Only consolation is I've crapped away 7 lbs. I'm flat out miserable!

Nole: Clear liquids for a day or two then progress with other food as tolerated. BRAT - banana, rice, applesauce, toast (unbuttered) diet is easy on the belly.
