How often do YOU bet?

Lately, there are a lot of posters saying, "I quit gambling ____ ago?"


Now, I took some serious shit a while back for saying that. People would ask, "Why the hell are you here then?" I figured that I liked it here, like most of the posters, adn still had some insight on certain teams/games. (Hey, if you have something to offer others, why not do it?)

I have often felt that there were more than a few people here who don't wager, or wager minor sums. I don't think there is anything wrong with that, but I doubt too many guys would come out and admit it.

So.....the question is, are you a "bet every day" type of guy, or a "here and there" guy? Do you even wager anymore? I would be interested to hear from you guys.

I do a little here and there. I look at certain teams, and when I like something I will post and wager.

For me, everyday. (Unless I have a bad few night, then I take a few days off)

Some sports and games more than others. Biggest plays for me are NBA and NCAAB 2nd halfs.

I am mostly a thoroughbred and hockey guy, I do look at the races and games EVERY day, but don't wager every day, that is a quick trip to the poor-house. I have learnt the hard way you have to pick your spots, I don't bet for "action" anymore, just for profit. Having said that, I will also say I do go to the OTB on occasion and bet all 10 races VERY SMALL just for fun and play the occasional Saturday NCAA game for something to watch, but mostly just a few bets a week on NHL games and maybe 7-12 races.

Probably 4 or 5 days out of every week....used to worry myself sick when I first started that I might miss a 6-1 day, now I know I'm just as likely to have avoided an 0-7 bullet...

Still small time, $25 a unit - started out as $5 a unit about 4 yrs ago, have learnt untold since then, mostly money management and discipline....have found a couple of systems that work reasonably steadily around 56% and just roll with those...

oh, btw yyz - was driving back from work recently late at nite and a car passed me with a personalized plate "yyz" - I almost drove off the road

I've seen him at the track, local card clubs, Vegas, etc. I have heard that he has even made some wagers on bowling! Now that is one sick boy.

I bet most every day unless I decide to take a break. Focus is on college and pro hoops, college foots, and bases. I like totals a lot, but have a problem playing unders-still haven't learned... :shrug:

I never say I'm going to quit, but I do take breaks when I feel I'm
losing focus and getting too undisciplined. Had my best year the first year I starting betting offshore and quite honestly, have had 2 straight losing years since then-mainly because of poor money management. The money is a "gambling fund" though that is established each year, although I never stick to the budget.

Played a little over 50 games (if I remember correctly) this college football season. This will probably be my last season playing that much football. I am planning on going primarily golf next season.

To answer the topic at hand...

Every day. Almost no hockey or baseball. Took off the whole summer, maybe made 5 plays. The break was the best thing I did. Bases are impossible for me anyways. I take this sports wagering pretty seriously. I consider it my second business.
