Get a new toothbrush?

Change sheets on the bed?

Wash your hands daily?

Kind of curious as to what the answers will be. I have been sick with pneumonia all week and the doc told me to make sure I throw away my toothbrush, which I do every other Sunday anyway but, just got me to thinking about that the norm would be.

#1 When the bristles start to bend
#2 2-3 weeks
#3 A shit ton... I got a thing about washin' my hands. Drives me nuts when I see people just get there hands wet (let alone the sickos that don't wash at all) when I'm in a public bathroom. WTF is that? There is no point to this action except to waste paper towels.

Get well soon dude...

Where it is real F ing COLD
Sorry to hear you have pneumonia.

1. I have about 10 toothbrushes on hand and have one in my car, in my laptop bag, at a chick's house, and at work.

2. Sheets, I only use a bottom sheet, top sheets drive me nuts. Once a week or so..

3. I have to wash my hands a ton at work but I guess it all depends on what I am doing at home. Usually before I eat.

new toothbrush...about three or four times a year, never thought about it?

change sheets every three weeks or so

wash hands daily about 8 or 10 times depending on what I am doing...before I eat, after bathroom, if they get dirty for one reason or another:shrug:

Thanks to all fro the well wishes it is always appreciated.

Yeah comfortable1 the doctor told me that you are supposed to change your brush once a month or three days after you get sick so you don't reinfect. I had never thought about it until then.

The sheets he said are full of mites and stuff after 2 weeks, only 1 week if the dog or cat uses the bed but he did say that I should be washing my hands as often as possible and no less that 20 times a day. I knew that hands carried a lot of germs but damn that is a lot of soap....lol

Every 2-3 months

Once a week ( Sun. AM )

Been home for 45 min. & have washed my hands 6 times, so I guess at least 15-20 times a day. I know we go through a lot of hand soap & paper towels because of me.

Hope you are feeling better !

I think your doc has stock in Proctor & Gamble.

http://www.usnews.com/news/50-ways-.../2008/12/18/change-your-toothbrush-more-often

From the article: "The ADA, however, recommends using a clean, new toothbrush every three to four months or once the bristles are frayed."

Of course, he may simply be a germaphobe with his 20 times a day hand washing nonsense. Call me a dirty hippie, but before eating or preparing food and after a shit are good enough for me. The only time it is for certain is after a shit. No way am I weakening my immune system by not letting it get a workout. It's not enough that docs have to hand out antibiotics like M&Ms, they have to build the bacterial resistance even faster by plugging the antibacterial hand soap. How about letting your bodies do their jobs?
