My sources tell me there are two very cleverly laid traps on Saturdays card.

Which matchups are they and why?

Clue: One matchup is in the MAC.

Joe,

I studied the Ohio / BUFF matchup longer than usual.

I'm really tempted to play Ohio, but I backed off.

I had too many reasons for and against both sides.

Gonna' pay close attention to the outcome, though.

Even though I won't have a wager on the game, the outcome and how the game is played should teach me something important about handicapping and the motive of the Linesmaker..

hope your right joe...c. mich. is my best bet this weekend....

i think the ohio line is a trap....i'm leaning to buffalo.

i also think the nebraska -1.5 line at home could be a trap.....the line is screaming to take nebraska...

Al,

Buffalo is 0-7 SU, has been shutout twice and scored seven or less in three others.

Otoh, they covered their last five and have steadily improved their ATS margin of cover in their last four.

In terms of venue, Ohio is pathetic on the road and Buffalo has covered all three of their home opportunities.

I think there's a time to go against an ATS streak, but not here.

Buffalo's portfolio shows a team who is hungry for a SU win and, win or lose, will give it all they got.

I think Ohio could be in for a BIG surprise.

Buddy I am curious about something

if you know for a fact that the bokkie has set up two games to trap the public then why would you even consider playing other gmaes. why not just bet large on the house side of the two traps and go 2-0 on the day and laubh all the way to the tix window?

Ilikegin'ajuice,

I handicap for a hobby.

I have to admit, it's a passionate one.

I look at all the matchups.

Probably moreso than most people.

When I look at a matchup, I ask myself, "What does the Linesmaker want me to believe this time? The matchup or the spot? (Thanks, Buzkil!)

Some matchups I discount rather quickly. Others just grab my curiousity and won't let go.

Ohio / BUFFALO is one of those.

There are other matchups on this weeks card that also have my attention. I don't have a wager on any of them, but I'm very interested in how these games will play out.

It's all a part of the "due diligence" of being a serious-minded handicapper.

Not that it gets me anywhere, but it's part of the passion.
