I am going to Vegas for christmas but planning on staying on the strip the whole time. I have never been to vegas so I want to see the most of it while I am there. Does anyone have any suggestions on itineraries for each day? I will be staying at the Venetian if that helps. Thanks.

Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Where to start?

Where to start?

Excellant time of year....all the New Years 2014 "Year of Horse" garden displays will be up, big competition between Bellagio and Venetian.

Pretty much everything is in walking distance, cab rides are fairly reasonable.

Bellagio nite fountain display is a crowd pleaser.

Buffets.... None at Venetian, Caesars pricey but tops in my book. (Avoid Wynn buffet, major yuck)

Poker...Venetian hands down for game variety..good noodle shop and sportsbook across from it.

Most of all ...wing it...wander, win some money and have a blast.

These are off the tleop of my head....

Billagio water show every 15 minutes as Dead Money said. Really cool....

Rio All Suites hotel has a nightly Mardi Gras show on the floor of the casino. It's a parade that moves around the ceiling of the casino. They throw beads and it's free fun for tourists.

I would make a stop at Ellis Island Casino behind Ballys and head to the dining room and ask for the steak special. You have to ask for it. It's a dive casino but they serve you a decent steak, soup or salad, vegetable, baked potato and a tall beer for $7 or $8.

I'd definitely take a ride on the NY NY roller coaster. Always fun....

The Caesars property has a 24 hour buffet for $45 and you can eat as often as you want in 24 hours. It includes, Caesars, Paris, Planet Hollywood and the Rio. Stay with those 4.

I would tell you to head to O'Shea's for an interesting and fun time on the strip, but they tore it down for shops and a ferris wheel or some bullshit like that.

So instead of that, I would make the trip downtown at night to get the downtown experience. Definitely a unique venue.

Have fun and hopefully this gave you some ideas!!!! :0074

Skip the Rio...they don't do the Mardi Gras parade anymore.

Cross the street to the TI, and start walking south stopping in every casino. Go to the Monte Carlo and cross the street and start walking north back to your hotel. That is a full day. When you get tired, stop in and play a few games, grab a drink and continue on.

You can spend extra time at:

Bellagio gardens
Bellagio fountain, as noted
Bally Mexican restaurant on the first floor for some cheap refreshments
Walk through the Caesars Forum shops to the casino and then outside again (you end up where they filmed the valet scene in The Hangover.
You can stop in Planet Hollywood for a hot dog at Pinks...overpriced but, you can say you were there.
Walk in through the TI and you can take their shuttle train to the Mirage...go see the tigers there if you like. (nightly Sirens show outside is temporarily shut down)
Stop in a CET property and play three card poker with the extra $5 bet for the six card bonus
Walk into Paris and then through the casino to Ballys.
You can skip the new Imperial Palace and Harrahs but, stop in the Harrahs Carnival Court for a drink or live music in the late PM and at night
Pick up some souvenirs at the Casino Royale...lots of hoodies, shirts, hats etc and get some Hagen Daz
Back to the Venetian...pretty good noodle restaurant right next to the sportsbook.

In my opinion no vacation any where shd be less that 2 weeks?5 days is a recipe for burnout. The shortest vacation i have ever taken was 17 days. Most people that i have taken to Vegas spend the first 7 days just getting acclimated to where ev is and the 1st day is usually a long nap ta recover from the trip. There is so much more around Las Vegas..Bryce Canyon Red Rock Mt Charleston Hoover Dam Death Valley a jaunt down to Laughlin dontown Fremont..5 days just doesn't cut it?..in my book..try and stretch to 9 10 days if possible? my 1st bit of advice

Don't forget to go to "old Vegas" and eat some of that food that has like 900 pounds of sugar in it and costs 2 bucks. Or the food that has like 1 million calories but tastes so good. Just walk around there, you'll see it.

What hammer is trying to say is, "Come back and talk to me when it's worth my time, Small Potatoes."

To answer your question, I would say that azbob's suggestion is the way to go. If you want to see as much of the strip you can, start at TI and make your way south. Although I'd add in one more step if you really want to hit as many casinos as possible. Instead of crossing at Monte Carlo, keep moving south to Excalibur. There is a tram there that connects Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Excalibur and can give your legs a big of a break and let you see all of those, too. Once you're done with those, you can cross at Excalibur over to Tropicana, and then make your way back north to your casino.

This might be a bit too ambitious for a single day depending on what you want to do (just see the sights, boozing the whole way, gamble at each place, etc.). But obviously you can pick a stopping point and cab it there and pick back up the next day if you want. That would have you see a substantial amount of the strip, which is what it sounds like you want to do.

I ate at Ceasars buffet years ago and really was good.

This sounds like ideal to get a few times during a stay.
