The Future is Bright because people like you know have to HOPE you get the statehouse back in Wisky after decades of that state being one of the most liberal in the country. You areadly lost the union battle and I'm glad that the state is in such good shape (under Republican leadership) that it can afford potentially three special recall elections.

These posted comments only illustrate the divide between the earners and the takers. My friend, the earners are winning and that tigtening in your crotch is the realization that the gravy train is over for people who make bad decisions, are lazy, are criminals, are here illegally and those who choose a lifestyle of taking. I don't mind at all supporting the 20% of the lower classes who don't fit in to these categories.

And here is a newsflash...life is not easy. If you have one parent, maybe grew up in the projects, had limited resources growing up...well then you have to work harder and there are plenty of examples of people who have overcome those hardships including me.

On the other hand, any day of the week the sponge can provide 100 excuses for why it can't be done and trench can express his outrage that we don't live in a Utopian society.

It will be a difficult path but, we are finally headed in the right direction with the right issues being discussed. Think it over, the debt discussion turned around 180 degrees after the last election. You all better hope that poster inane comments on the internet starts paying your bills.
Best you leave democracy to those of us who live, eat and breath it, Bob. That way you can get back to your Matlock reruns on the Hallmark channel, Bob. ;)

Upgrade her skill set? U see how much it cost to go to school nowadays? Not something easy to do if u are a woman with a child. She probably can't even afford to pay for the ridiculous cost of books. Not everyone has an easy road map or funds coming from a source where they can go on to school. Find a better job in this economy? Maybe Target is hiring. Ask for a raise at Walmart? Good luck with that.

I had no easy road map or funds and I will receive my specialist in December.

Next time you run across "all" those people wanting to improve themselves but "poor me" I can?t afford it, feel free to share this site with them:0008

It's always the same dunderheads who resort to name calling isn't it. I guess now I have been labeled old by Trench and his view of an insult is someone who watches Matlock.

Trampled...I don't see any debate on your part other than the usual "us versus them" philosophy. It amazes me how little faith you people have in the citizens of our country. Despite daily examples of you being wrong, you continue to assert that without the government taking care of you, without your employer meeting every need and without the community managing every aspect of our lives, we would all somehow not be able to eat or care for ourselves.

We're on the right path to fix those things so your views don't really matter anyway. You had your chance, you elected The Obama and let's wait and see what happens in the next election. Those of us who are optimistic about our future can use the last election results and wait another 15 months. You'd better manage that time well as you are probably feeling like you are on death row and they are going to drop the hammer on election day. I guess I would resort to name calling and profanity too if in that situation but, then again...probably not.

Please explain where I would be wrong. I can't wait for this.

I voted for Paul. You see I vote for who I think is the best person for this country. As opposed to assbob who is obviously GOP to the core. Another fucking sheep.

Does student aid pay for everything? How about the wife that is separated and can't get one dime from her husband and can't get any aid either because the Husband makes over the limit? Tell me how she is supposed to better herself and if u don't think this happens u are full of shit cause i am helping someone in this exact same situation. Oh and please don't let me go off about a northeast school and a Southern School cause the woman i am helping has a sister that lives in NC. I can't wait to see who hires her after going to that college. She is so embarrassed by the schooling she is getting that she won't tell us the name of the college.

One thing i like about u closet neocons is how history is not one of ur stronger subjects. The history is bright :mj07: History 4 short years ago put us in this mess to begin with. History showing the last 4 Republican presidents spent us into this black hole. I know i know u don't like to be blamed for things ur party did wrong we get it. I wouldn't want to be blamed for fuking things up either. the history is bright LMFAO.

Holy shit. What a skewed view of the world.

I really enjoy the part about you wanting to help the 20% that legitimately need it. I like how 80% don't, and that is the way you've got it in your fucked up mind. Flip the numbers and reality is probably closer.

I wonder how well you would do in the scenario you painted? I bet you would have overcome that and then some to become the winner you are today. Nothing could hold you back. You're a hard worker, Bob. You earned everything you got. Give me a fucking break.

Wouldn't u love to see how a guy like this got his start and where he is today? Not his internet chart where he worked hard for everything he earned and is the big success he is today. His real life chart. I remember Muchkinman. He fought for every neocon viewpoint there possibly was while on SSdisability :mj07:

It doesn't take much intelligence or "schooling" as sponge would say, to speculate, gossip and make personal attacks so no surprise in the responses here.

It would be great to have a debate with educated people who could avoid profanity and personal attacks but, when you are in the situation the democrats are now in, Maxine Walters becomes your spokesperson.

Trampled...every single mother/father, underprivileged kid, returning Vet, poor person, minority, legal immigrant etc, etc, etc can be an example of someone rising from the situation they were born into or they can be another user of the system. Everyone of those people have the freedome to make good or bad choices.

Sponge...it would be interesting to know how you are helping that woman...is that a job? Since you asked, maybe she should had made a better decision regarding her mate...is her bad judgement now my problem to fix? If, as you say, the husband has money than take him to court. Maybe instead of you "helping" she should get a lawyer and, BTW, the lawyer takes the case on contingency. History isn't bright but, we are coming out of it...hey, are you a "community organizer." Since you use the word all the time, I dare you to define neocon without looking it up.

Nuts....thanks for the compliment and insight.

Like I said before, it appears to be about 7:2 on this board which means the odds are getting closer to even. You The Obama followers need a few more posters on your side to make it a fair discussion.

Trampled I reread your posts here and I don't see a point.

If you want to continue to question the value of WalMart, the largest employer in the US, then I guess you will have an arguement with the millions who work there and the millions who shop there who all disagree with you, hence their choice, in a free society, to do either.

If you think you made a "point" of noting that WalMart does not pay benefits to all of their employees, they have every right to do so (read the constitution) just as you have a right to set up your own company, risk your own money and watch it grow or fail based on the decisions you make.

If you want to have a serious conversation, think about why it has evolved that employers have to be the source of benefits at all. There is no logical reason for this and it is part of the reason why healthcare costs are out of control. Car insurance isn't tied to an employer and that system works fine with people able to find the deal that suits them best. Dems, of course, can't comprehend that people can make better decisions for themselves so this topic didn't even come up during The ObamaCare mandate.

Make up your mind which excuse you are going with, is it because she is a single mother, or because she can?t afford it? You might want to check the site a little closer and read up on the student loans. You see I do not qualify for "entitlements" either. I (just as anyone else) can however receive loans. Your assertions of schools according to regions are a prime example of your character. On one hand you berate those not wanting to give the poor lady that just wants to better herself an opportunity, and on the other hand you berate the lady attending a "Southern" school because who the hell would hire her. Sickening, but not surprising.

Right behind you

Your rant goes right along with the movement to destroy labor unions.

Individuals have no bargaining power with a large employer like WM. WM simply says to an individual; "If you don't like working for starvation wages, if you don't like no benefits, if you don't like 27 hour work weeks, go fuck yourself. We can always find people who are desperate for a job."

And so employment at WM is always on their terms.

That's the ways it was in the coal mines, and in the sweat shops, and in the packing plants, and in the steel mills and elsewhere until people smartened up, organized, and were able to bargain with employers on equal terms.

And yes, azzbob, the Constitution protects the right of workers to band together for their common good.

As to the value of WM, I see very little. Most of their income is spent buying goods from China and elsewhere, most of their profit goes into the pocket of a handful of Sam's descendents, and their piss poor wages and benefits drive down the overall standard of living in the community.

Yes, people shop there because they have low prices, but those people are fools, never realizing that those low prices are impoverishing their community.

Some folks know better. I was recently back in NH where I lived half a lifetime ago, and I spent some time talking to the people who now own the house we then lived in. It seems WM tried to locate a store there. Those NH folks told WM to get lost - "We don't want your low prices at the cost of lousy jobs and we don't want our local merchants run out of business. This is our community, we're doing just fine, and we won't let you come here. Go peddle your slave labor goods and poverty wages elsewhere."

You're deaf to that sort of thinking, I know, and you probably think McDonald's provides value to a community too. Sure it does if you're into minimum wage jobs and artery clogging meals.

Hell, you probably think Brown and Williamson is a valuable employer too. They do sell a lot of product, employ a lot of people, and make a lot of money. Nothing wrong with that, is there Mr capitalist?

Where it is real F ing COLD
Been thinking about this and the topic of the thread is about Walmart screwing their employees.

Do they? Well I would say yes. Is it their right? Well it sure is. Is this a good business model for the country? Should all businesses try to run like this?

It is good for the business but if all businesses ran this way, don't ya think the middle class would get wiped out or have a bigger discrepancy.

In an idealistic world Wal Mart would be an employer of teens, college kids, and second incomers but sadly it doesn't always happen that way. If the woman in question goes back to school and gets a high paying job, who is going to replace her? Someone else who is going to get screwed by the business model.

The rich are getting richer and they probably should but the worker needs to get richer too, not more poor. The discrepancy is too big. Until these discrepancy gaps tighten some, I see no way out of this.
