Very unfortunate....every fukn year 1-2 super stars go down in preseason. Absolute huge blow. Rodgers/Nelson chemistry one of the best in football. Nelson is Aaron's security blanket. I like Cobb but now will be double teamed more...some unknown will step up

Fantasy Impact: If the initial diagnosis holds true, this has significant fantasy impact. Nelson would miss the entire season and Davante Adams' stock would skyrocket as he would be in line to fill in for Nelson. Randall Cobb should see increased receptions as well with Nelson hauling in 98 receptions in 2014. News should be released shortly on his MRI results.

They aren't too skilled past him in that spot.

really?...you`re closer to the situation than I am but devante adams(this guy may be better than any receiver on the ravens),abredaris coming back...jeff Janis is a solid player.....and this kid tye Montgomery from Stanford they just drafted is very highly thought of....

I think if theres one position you could afford a big loss at,it might be wr.....yeah,he was Rodgers go-to-guy.....but he`s aaron Rodgers....I`d wager that nelson wouldn`t be the nelson he is on a team with a lesser qb.....

not saying losing a player of that caliber isn`t a blow, but,I think the packers will be fine....they`re really deep at the position....all their guys are draft choices(3 of those guys relatively high draft choices).....

I wish we had your receiving corps(even without nelson)...

lemme add...of the ravens` top 5 available receivers(I don`t count 1st round pick perriman...he has attended 1 day of camp...he hasn`t seen the fields at all in august and has just started walking again after a "bruised knee"....lol)..

the other 5 are 36 year old steve smith,3 undrafted free agents and 7th rd pick Michael campanaro(who is a walking hamstring pull...the guy gets a "bulky" hamstring descending stairs)...

you guys really do have some serious young talent....I expect Rodgers will use quarless and the other Rodgers a little more...

I think the packers will still be a legit super bowl contender(as long as Rodgers remains upright)....

and I`m not happy about it....the ravens bought into the three undrafted free agents being an answer even though they aren`t.......stupid fans like it because "ozzie brought in undrafted free agents" so they must be good..they`re o.k. back-ups but they aren`t consisitent starters that scare an nfl caliber defense one iota....they look good in camp going against our weak second team db`s(another problem) but when they go against legit players, not much happens....none are deep threats....

sorry for hijacking the thread, but,to build a solid, deep wr corps, you grab a little something moldable in most every draft....a 2nd rounder here,a 3rd there and maybe a 4th in another year...that`s what the packers have done and that`s why they have legit functional depth...the ravens have always undervalued the position and it`s a real part of the reason why flacco isn`t always as consisitent as some of the elite guys.......I`m not saying flacco is Rodgers...he`s not...but he always seems to be forced to play with has beens or never was`.....torrey smith is the best we`ve had and I`m not even sure he`s ever been to a pro bowl ...

as a ravens fan,it`s an issue that`s bugged me for years...

Where it is real F ing COLD
Green Bay will be fine but how can people say Janis and Abedarrus are just going to be good. they are unproven players. Adams should be good but this takes him out of the slot. packers still win the division provided they keep relatively healthy.

It' still pre-season, and with cuts coming, there could be some bargain & quality WRs available, you don't need a burner, you need someone who can catch a ball in a crowd or run the right routes, someone like a Gholston or even Cooper from Philly, someone will get traded or released that the Packers will find or they may have some guys in camp that emerge, it's happened before and it will happen again!

Green Bay will still win 12-13 games.
They still have a top 3 o-line, top 5 rb, best qb, and wr's that have been in the system. They will imo win north by 3 games. Jordy is a huge loss, but they have enough skill to over come it. Any other key injuries though would hurt.

Randall Cobb lands hard on right shoulder, taken to locker room vs. Eagles

The image of Randall Cobb walking to the locker room with a shoulder injury was about the worst imaginable scenario Saturday night for the Green Bay Packers, who six days earlier lost receiver Jordy Nelson to a season-ending knee injury.

Cobb, who took over for Nelson as the Packers' No. 1 receiver, was injured on the team's third play from scrimmage in its preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He appeared to land on his right side while attempting to catch a pass from quarterback Brett Hundley along the sideline.

Cobb was initially examined in the bench area by team physician Dr. Pat McKenzie. Shortly thereafter, he was taken to the Lambeau Field locker room for further examination.

Last season, Cobb caught 91 passes for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns. Those numbers were second on the team to those of Nelson, who had 98 catches for 1,519 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Cobb signed a four-year, $40 million contract in March shortly before he would have hit free agency.

Right tackle Bryan Bulaga left later in the first quarter with a left ankle injury, leaving center Corey Linsley as the only healthy starting lineman.

Coach Mike McCarthy held quarterback Aaron Rodgers out of the game in large part because three of his starting offensive linemen were out with injuries entering the game.

Depending on Randall Cobb injury, and offensive line injuries, we're going to find out just how great Aaron Rodgers really is.
