Parish Episcopal 57

2 Private Schools going at it but in different divisions. Tigers (TC) are led by 4 Star QB Shedeur Sanders, who is the spawn of Dad Deion Sanders (the Hall of Famer) and pops is doubling down as the teams Off Coordinator. Last year, MaxPreps did kinda a seasonal documentary on TC and followed the program and players around which I'm sure helped in recruiting for the school. Tigers have won back to back state titles and sit on a 23 game win streak. The team has a few D1 athletes and is predicted to win the whole enchilada again but their strongest competition will come in the non-conference games, as last week's game showed, a 16-13 win over Private School Bishop Lynch. TC has a current National ranking #130 and is #15 in the state.

It's the first game for Parrish Episcopal so it's probably the main reason why I didn't make this pick a rare 3 Unit play, but I really believe that the line should be closer to a pick em and think the Panthers can straight out win here. While MaxPreps has EP at #311 nationally and state ranked #36..... the journalist in Dallas actually have Panthers at the #1 rank for TAPPS Large School Div (Div 1) so some obvious discrepancy in MaxPreps and the guys in the know in Dallas. EP has a pretty good QB leading their team also, as QB Preston Stone (6'2" 205 lbs) has ran and passed for over 7,000 yards w/86 TDs.... Word on the street is he's creative, has great vision, is very fleet of foot, and manages the game well. He's has several offers (including his top 2 picks Texas and SMU). He's being compared to Johnny Manziel, which is his idol and has met him at camps. Stone was being recruited as early as in 5th grade. His older brother is QB at Virginia. Preston's Coach actually recognized his talent at a very early age and hooked him up with a QB Training Coach, Kevin Murray, and if the name sounds familiar it's because his son is a pretty good QB also (Kyler Murray). Panthers return 6 Offensive Starters from last year's team that was bounced in the Semis of the State Playoffs for Private Large Schools classification. Returning OL Donovan Jackson (6'4" 310 lbs) is on the All-State team with multiple offers.

These 2 didn't meet last year but curiously, they both had a common opponent, Bishop Lynch, which TC won beat 23-19 and PE beat 27-20.....It just feels like this game could be headed the same way, as TC beat Bishop Lynch last week 16-13 so I'm kinda expecting a similar score here as Parish Episcopal will be a much stronger opponent than the Div 2 teams the Trinity Christian ran all over last year. I'm feeling like Panthers can win this game outright as it's at their house too...

No Shore - 40'

Saved myself some beer money last week as the lines to the Nationally televised game pitting super powers Katy against No Shore had me leaning strong on No Shore. However, that wasn't the way it played out and Katy emerged with a defensive minded game. To say North Shore are licking their wounds would be an understatement. Mustangs were the defending State Champs and ranked as high as #4 in most National rankings. They had cruised (well not really cruised) but went undefeated in 2018 at 16-0. Mustangs were ranked #1 in the state and had taken Katy down 35-21 to effectively put the brakes on Katys long dominance in the Houston area. No Shore followed up by beating Katy twice, also in the state playoffs. With Katy losing a ton of talent and No Shore returning the most Div 1 talent as they've ever had, it was a shock to the system to No Shore falter in what was a crazy hard hitting game.

So this week's foe is Ridge Point that won last week 38-16 over Kingswood. Last seasons only loss was to No Shore (44-0).......Ridge Point lost some talent to graduation and now they get a pissed off North Shore program who will most likely not call off the dogs.

No Shore evidently had some injuries who didn't play against Katy but are healthy this week. Most importantly, RB Zachary Evans (#1 ranked player in the USA) who rushed for 1,793 yards w/29 TDs should go off here and score often. Last year's version averaged 53.4 ppg and with all the talent on this offense, with QB Dematrius Davis Jr, who was responsible for nearly 4,000 yards w/49 TDs (top rated Jr QB in the Nation) and Jr WR Shadrach Banks (6' 205 lbs) catching over 1,300 yards w/17 TDs, there is simply too much firepower for Ridge Point to contend with........ I expect it to be a long night for the Panthers in this one and think Mustangs could very well cover the total by themselves....

2 5pm games I'm on...

St Johns -12'
St Josephs Prep 56

2 units Over 56
2 units St Johns -12'

Talent all over the field in this one, but looking at St Johns work over Deerfield Beach in Fla reminds me exactly how much offensive firepower this team carries.... St Josephs were rudely denied their game at Marietta last week and while no shame losing to the Georgia HSF power on their own field, St Johns will be better...... Think we see some scoring in this one.

Hoover -21'
Thompson 58

Two teams know each other well, and split last year's games but Thompson came out ahead winning a close one in the State Finals, where they were demolished by Phenix City Red Devils. Hoover played Phenix City in their first game this season and escaped a close 17-14 win. Hoover seemed to have taken a step back past two seasons but QB Robby Ashford is the real deal and everyone expects Bucs to win the State 7A Div. No other school in Alabama can boast 13 State Titles with a record of 241-33 since 2000.

Thompson has their work cut out for them but last year's success against the Bucs should account for something and in last week's win over Foley, QB Sawyer Pate threw twice as many TDs as incompletions building a 4 Score lead in the first half. Hoover isn't Foley but think the 2-0 Warriors hang within the number but love the Over in this one.

2 units Over 58
1 unit Thompson +21'

Well last week I was humbled by Terps domination over Howard.... But really didn't mind losing the wager because it was over pretty quick... On the flip side, Northwestern last play fumble back to the endzone was pretty painful to watch... Love College Football.. 😂

Some early games:

Ohio +5' over Pitts.... 7u... I played early in the week because I felt Ohio has a legit shot of winning outright. That Nathan Rourke kid is a special talent and Pitts will struggle accounting for the dual threat QB. As of last week, he is Bobcats leading rusher and although Pitt won the ACC Coastal, their weakness was their rush D, so I expect Rourke to have a huge day. I watched a little of the Pitt-Virginia tilt and the offense was anemic. I will be peppering the ML too.

Virginia Tech/Old Dominian Over 56'...... 7 u... *Hoping history repeats and these two combine for another 84 points like last year. I expect Hokies to get some revenge after last year's upset but I'm scratching my head as to why there is so much chalk. Hokies D looked average at best last week against BC, so think we should have enough offense to get over the number.

Purdue/Vandy Over 55.......10 u *I had this capped at 64....think we see alot of big plays.

Army +22' over Michigan.... 8 u *Honestly, I know it was just one game, however, Harbaughs new Spread Offense was cringeworthy at times, to a team that was just there to collect a paycheck... Army still runs Triple Option and there isn't enough time to focus on the nuances of this offense. Army loves to control the clock and even prolific offenses find it frustrating to play the Cadets, and Wolverine offense doesn't qualify yet as prolific..Hope Michigan remembers last years Cadet OT loss to Oklahoma.. .. Grabbing the points.

Texas A&M +16' over Clemson... 6 u *Seems like value here especially after what took place in College Station last year..... Think Clemson is simply getting too much respect from the odds makers.

Baylor -25' over UTSA.... 5 u *Baylor crushed Stephen F Austin and now gets to crush Roadrunners.

UCF -10' over Fla Atl.... 5 u *Think Knights roll handily

No Texas/SMU Over 73.5.......6 u *Scorefest

Cmu/Wiscy Under 51.5 u........ 6 u

Stanford/USC Under 46.........6 u

Miami/No Carolina Under 47.5.......6 u

SDSU +7' over UCLA...... 10 u *Just spreading some more anti PAC 12 love

Oregon/Nevada Over 62.......10 u

MSU/WMU Under 46.5......7 u

Oregon St/Hawaii Over 77.......8 u

Alabama/New Mexico Over 55'........5 u

Tulane/Auburn Under 52......6 u

EMU +15' over Kentucky..... 5 u

FCS Plays:

Kennesaw St +1' over Kent St.... 6 u

Citadel +6 over Elon....... 10 u

Maine +7 over Georgia Southern... 10 u *Don't sleep on the Black Bears.... Also, Georgia Southern was annihilation time against LSU (down 42-3 at half).... Also, could be an emotional game for Black Bears as their leading tackler from ly was injured and is out for season....

E Kentucky +24' over Louisville... 5 u *Short turn around for Cards as they played Labor Day.

No Carolina A&T +30 over Duke...... 5 u

Delaware +3' over Rhode Island..... 8 u *think this should be a pick em spread so like the generous points with the better team.

SoEast Miss St/Montana St Under 62......10 u *Max play here as this line is absurd. SOEast Miss St has a ton of new players on Offense... Montana St is starting a true Redshirt Frosh, and he will have growing pains in a very good D.

No Dakota St/No Dakota Over 51......7 u *Think there is a good probability that Bison cover the big number, but like the Total over because if Bison get to 40+ there is a good chance it goes over.

Chattanooga/Jacksonville St Over 47..... 6 u

C Arkansas -1' over Austin Peay... 7 u.. *Bears are coming off a big win against FBS W Kentucky last week, so chance of a let down and this is a road game against an impressive Austin Peay, but Bears are the better team and the price is right

So Dakota St -37' over Long Island.... 3 u

Virginia Lynchburg +28 over Davidson... 3 u

Hampton -7 over Virginia Union.... 3 u

Norfolk St -19' over Virginia St..... 3 u

Portland St -43' over Simon Fraser.... 3 u

Robert Morris -22' over Kentucky St.... 3 u

Tarleton St +1' over Stephen F Austin... 3 u
