Your heart goes out to the Bettendorf kids. It was there... so close. Overall I think we all had a good day. I think we just had a little disagreeement on the last one but overall we all did well.

I am not doing the high school tomorrow as we have markets. Have to sell those dog treats.

FCS I see maybe one or two really strong plays but I have a lot of games coming up as plays. I will post in the morning when the lines drop to -110. A lot of injured quarterbacks, and a ton of parity across FCS right now. The title is clearly NDSU's to lose. Dont see anyone beating them.

Pella Christian Eagles are 8-3 and winning close games in the playoffs largely on the foot of Kicker Nathan DeBruin, who happens to be one of the States best... He is 40 for 40 on PATs and 9 for 9 on FGs with a long of 42 yards...... In last week's win 23-21 over Bellevue he had 3 clutch FGs that gave the Eagles the W..... QB Dan Jingling has passed for 1,257 yards and in last weeks tight W he rushed for 110 yards and was 13 for 17 for 144 pass yards..... Team averages 29.7 ppg and allows 21 which may be a problem.

Undefeated Dike-New Hartford is 11-0 and averages 45.6 ppg.... Wolverines are seeking its first State Title but they have been to the Semis 9 times... Wolverines were runner ups in 1998, 2001, 2002 and 2010....The offense is balanced with QB Drew Sonnenburg completing 66% of his passes for 1,359 yards w/16 TDs.....RB Cade Bennett has rushed for 1,698 yards w/22 TDs (in last weeks blowout over I-35 (yes, that's the name of their school) he rushed 31 times for 249 yards w/3 TDs)..

Cut to the chase here.... I really don't see PC having much hope as D-NH has a talented Defense that has registered 6 shout-out this season including last week's 37-0 game *PC lost to I-35 31-28 in the regular season.... Wolverines only allow 6.4 ppg and 9 of 11 opponents have scored a TD or less in all their games.... They beat down South Hamilton 42-8 in the opening win..... Wolverines also have an effective kicker, Isaac Jorgensen is 65 of 67 on PATs and 5 of 9 on FGs with a long of 41 yards.... PC lost to Van Meter (last year's state champion) 27-7 and lost to PCM 40-0 in the regular season, but both schools are still alive in the Semis..... D-NH is in a class of the last 2 and I think PC will have trouble scoring here so I'm laying the wood and liking the Under too.

Two teams that each won State Titles last year meet in 1A Semis.... This one could be a classic as both teams are loaded with quality athletes.... West Sioux Falcons won the Class A Title last year but stepped up a division this year.... Falcone lost their opener to Boyden Hull/Rock Valley 42-16 before going on a impressive run... Falcons lead 1A with 3,078 pass yards w/42 TDs behind the strong arm of QB Hunter Dekkers who orchestrates a spread offense... Jr RB/WR Kade Lynott leads the team with 902 rush yards and has caught 1,314 pass yards *His brother graduated last year and was a 2,000 yard rusher so following in his brothers footstep and gleaning plenty D1 interest.

Van Meter is trying to return to the State Title Game after winning the Championship last season.... Has the top rushing attack racking up 3,465 yards w/42 TDs on the ground... This is their 11th straight trip to the playoffs... RB Ian Abrahamson leads with 1,890 rush yards... QB Anthony Potthoff is a dual threat and has rushed for 1,024 yards and passed for 1,069 w/32 combined TDs... He has a stable of Wrs to throw to and the OL is physical.....

I really think this game is a toss up but I'm backing Van Meter with the better overall Defense.... Getting 4 points with a team that can legitimately win is a bargain.... I like the Under here too, although there is a danger that this game results in a shootout with both teams 2-Headed Monsters doing their damage.

*PCM is fully capable of getting to the Over by itself and leads the state in scoring averaging 49.7 ppg..... West Liberty is wearing the Cinderella Slipper coming in ranked #16 in playoffs and surprising 2 opponents Beating Chariton 30-10 and beating Brenton Com 42-14.....

PCM is the #1 ranked team in 2A and beat Carroll Kuemper 49-0 and Williamsburg 55-34.......QB Reed Worth has 2,065 yards passing w/25 TDs and 832 yards rushing w/15 TDs.

I think West Liberty can score but don't believe they can keep pace with this dynamic offense of PCM..... Grab the Over

Kimberley +4.5- They avenged the loss to Fond du Lac which ended their 70 game winning streak they like Dowling in Iowa are going for their 6 consecutive State title. I think this is going to be a slobberknocker and I could see the game ending 5-2 LOL. Going to be fun.

I am also looking forward to the Homestead vs Brookefield matchup.... WAR
