Well i got my five minutes of fill on Fox and Mike Huckebee says that he knows a guy who has a pizza shop which has 45 employees. He said the guy is worried about his taxes going up and told Mike that he will have to lay off ten people because of this tax hike. This is the biggest bunch of bullshit i have heard yet by these right wing jackoffs. First off if you have 45 employees i can assure you that you need each and every one of them. To say that an increase in taxes will mean that this shop is gonna try to make ends meet with ten less workers is laughable. You would have to kill yourself in a shop like this. You are laying off ten of your employees but getting the same amount of customers?:mj07: When the weekend comes and you are running around with your tongue hanging out trying keep up with the customers, this certain fellow is now gonna cut back on the help? Its freakin impossible unless you want to fold up the shop. Good man. Bad liar. Raymond the business he was talking about it is impossible to lay people off to save money. You would kill yourself trying to serve all the customers with ten less people. He should have said concrete finisher then he might have had me. You could lay off ten finishers and still get the same amount of work done and the guys would only have to work six hours. Six hours a day isn't all that bad being paid for eight. I know you are just use to working 4 for eight.

First off, let it be known that I am as disgusted as anyone with the state of our country.

I cannot specifically speak for the pizza business, but in general EVERYONE is dispensable. Any business, top to bottom, everyone can be replaced. I think most people here would agree with that. Just because they had 40+ employees doesn't mean they need every one of them. Speaking from experience as a small business owner, our practice works much more efficiently when we are a little short-staffed because everyone chips in and no one can hide. When we have too many hands on deck it's easier for some of the staff to hide in the shadows and push off work to other people. You've got it backwards. The more employees a business has the easier it is to cut some of them. Who can truly afford to cut 10 employees and still function? A business with 15 people or 100? The answer is pretty obvious, you're wrong on that.

Now, regarding Obama and his plan with small businesses. Sure, this tax increase will hit people making over 250k. Fine, i'll give you the point that these people can afford to pay a few more % to help out our country. To me that's fine.

What I am NOT okay with is paying 54.9% of my income to tax. That is NOT American!. Really how can anyone here think it is fair to pay 55% to uncle sam? Obama plans to raise the top tax bracket to 39.6% and uncap social security/medicare from 2.9 to 15.3%...totalling a whopping 54.9% tax rate for small business owners.

You are very naive to think that this won't affect workers at small businesses. At the end of the day the person whose name is on the loan is responsible and employees may take the hit. Really buddy, I'm sick of things and if Obama is the man to fix it, then great let's do it. But taxing small business 55% really is going to create some big, big problems.

I was out at his place near the stadium, installed his "buddies" Directv....he lived on the coner unit with about 15 cameras watching the residence....he wouldnt be that simple to come back to Philly as soon as his release you think? He wasnt the MOST liked Boss around, I think he could have a few threats and attempts on him. Best of luck to the guy either way....i'll pass on linking up with him, unless he has a little "job" for me anyhow. Working at the pizza shop "La Rosa" wouldnt be a good enough job for me to take up the offer.

I was specifically talking about the restaurant business which i have spent about half my life in. There is no possible way you can cut this many people off of your staff unless you want your business to go under. You can't possible work that hard. I would say the same thing with a construction crew. If you want to cut ten from 45 then you are gonna be bidding on less jobs. I don't want to pay taxes either but when you are 11 trillion in debt and really 53 trillion somebody has to pay something. McCain is right on when he say's spending has to stop unfortunately he wants to spend for things he likes. You can talk any way you want to me He thinks im an asshole too. :142smilie
