Husband says he cut off wife's head, stuffed body in suitcase

A jealous husband who strangled his wife, cut off her head with a saw and stuffed her body in a suitcase that he dumped on street in Harlem was caught because he left his pone number in the port.
A telephone number New York Detectives found in the suitcase was traced to the couple's basement flat, where the husband eventually confessed to the killing, Inspector James Luongo said today.
Oscar Pilamunga, 24, was awaiting a hearing today on a second-degree murder charge. Police said he confessed to attacking his wife, Beatrice Yually, when she told him she was leaving him for a boyfriend late last month.
The couple, from Ecuador, and have two children in that country, police said.
Yually was a street vendor, while police believe Pilamunga worked as a chef.
Pilamunga told investigators that he punched and strangled Yually, cut off her head, tossed it into a large metal rubbish bin and put her body in the suitcase, police said.
Pilamunga said he took a cab into Manhattan and dumped the suitcase containing Yually's body late in the afternoon of June 1, law enforcement officials said. The suitcase was found several hours later by a passer-by.
