Pittsburgh, Pa.
You're married and have three children.
Your middle child is a fourteen year old boy.
He's rebellious and does not have a good relationship with his father.
His grandmother is visiting for the weekend.
At breakfast, your youngest daughter, your rebellious son and grandma are in the kitchen.
You enter and say "Good morning!"
Everyone responds with a cordial reply except the son who says, "S'up."
You stare at him and he responds in kind.
A moment of silence, then he says to his grandmother.....
"Woman, make me some eggs."

What do you do?

He sits his ass in the kitchen and cooks his grandmother a meal of her choice that night. Or else loses all privileges (phone if he has one, computer, etc).

Or no hot meals for a week, he can eat cereal 3x/day. He may like it at first but it would get old.

A smack across his face, but that is only after my own mother smacks him ten times harder, and my dad kicks his ass.

If he says "woman, make me some eggs" that behavior was probably learned from his own father. So in this case, as the father I would kick my own ass for teaching him to treat women like that.

The "S'up" is just kid stuff he will grow out of. THAT you can use punishment or whatever the hell parents do these days to correct their kids behavior.
