i would like to get an opinion from someone who watched the lakers/suns game in person or on tv.

the total on the game was 188. right before game time (and i mean RIGHT before, like at 9:03-9:04ish, the total mived to 191)

the suns and lakers played 3 quarters of slow down basketball. not high scoring at all.

score at end of 3rd was 71-61. 132 points.

score with 3:30 to go in the game was 85-73.

even the original total of 188 had 158 points with just 3:30 left.

keep in mind the lakers are down 12 points, which in the nba normally means a team will concede victory and get on to the next city for the next game. they dont foul like college kids.

the score goes from

85-73 with 3:30
to
107-93 FINAL

like i said, im not suggesting conspiracy, but why in the world were the refs calling so many fouls in the final 3:30 of a game already decided?

line move from 188 to 191 just a minute or two before gametime.

strange.

like i said, i dont suggest players fix nba game. thats lame.

but to for the refs to call so many fouls as to allow 42 points in the final 3 or 4 minutes- thats ridiculous

i had phoenix in the game so it didnt really matter to me but i was sitting here for what seemed like an eternity waiting for the last few minutes to run off and collect my winnings and the thought definately crossed my mind that the lakers had the over in this one. they were down double digits the whole time but just continued to foul again and again. very strange indeed.

I watched the game on TV and had Under 188...it was brutal to watch. For some reason, the Lakers were full court pressing and intentionally fouling the Suns, down 12 points with under 2 minutes remaining.

well, the line moved from 188 to 191 so someone put a large amount on the over.

these NBA refs are no angels. some five or so years ago they were busted for downgrading nba paid first class airline seats to coach and keeping the cash.

and these players are no angels either. even with million dollar contracts they have a lot of expenses. they gotta buy nice clothes/rides/houses to keep up with their peers, take care of mom and dad, all their brothers and sisters and friends from back home. take care of their wife and make child support (kemp double digit kids) or pay off their mistress(es) ahem...Jordan.

they're human too man. Jordan liked to trip down to Atlantic City during nba playoff games in NY. Rose wasnt the only one. he's the only one caught

anything's possible

same thing happened to me when I had the Under on Wizards against Bulls ..

Things look good with 1:13 to go and I needed them to score less than 16 points ..

also Bulls were losing by 26 points .. well guess what ..

Bulls started fouling right away and these jokers combined for
17 points in 1:13 .. now why the hell would ya foul when ur down 26 points and there is 1 minute to go .. unless ... .

unless u gonna get a lot of cash from somewhere . .. .

I defi think these games have been fixed at some level.

I will leave it to Eztds and Dragon will tell ya the story of the
Dallas Over.

and today Dallas of all teams scoring 7 points in last 6:18 .. hmm makes u wonder.

Was gonna post the same thing.I've NEVER heard of 39 points in less than three minutes (they had 161 at the three minute timeout and I remembered thinking the under was gonna cash.)Could not believe it when I saw a score with like a minute twenty to go and they'd scored 25 points in less than two minutes.zsbob9, I really feel your pain.Though I had Phoenix and not the total that had to be worst beat I've seen in a basketball total or any sport for that matter, and I've been capping since the 70's! (That Dallas game last year was only 27 in the last 2-when Nellie Nelsons son Donnie decided to start fouling with 2- minutes left down 15 to 17.I was on the under in that one.)This one redefines unbelievable.

Rule #1 - never bet a Laker total (except in the playoffs)
Rule#2 - never bet the Lakers as a Fav at home.

You may miss the odd win here and there, but over time you will save yourself some aggravation and money.
