Not trying to start something here, but do you really think those two O Lines are better than Seattles? :142squint

Yes.......just look at the teams........Indy protected Manning well all year.....he was not sacked hardly at all and James had a good rushing season again........Indys offensive line has been doing well for the past 3 years......They had 1 bad game vs the Steelers......

Denver.......are you kidding me????? every year they can throw Joe Blow at tailback and he would get 1000 yrds........they always protect well and block well for the run game under Shanahan.......

In fact not only are these teams offensive lines better but they have been better for the past 3 years........

Everyone is making Walter Jones look like he isnt beatable............

Did anyone watch Dallas and the NyGiants vs this offensive line????? Osi Umenyiora had 2 sack and 8 tackles lining up against Jones all day.........and Dallas was in Hasselbecks face all day...

Pittsburgh aint Dallas and NY.....and that was months ago against a banged up defense and they still won the game. Pittsburgh riding an emotional bubble that is gonna burst come Sunday when their game plan doesn't work....and they realize that Seattle IS the better team. Go ahead ......blast me with the homer crap and how much better Pittsburgh is and how they're gonna make Seattle look like a bunch of girls......I've heard it all.

Gonna let the game do the rest of my talking.

Good Luck !!

:welcome: Buck i, the only thing you know about pittsburgh is that it's 45 minutes from your home. pittsburgh may win your moneyline bet, but they won't cover the spread. the seattle offensive line will be THE best that pittsburgh faces all year, there are three all-pros.

Seat won't see Alexander get many yards, he'll be tackeled at the line of scrimmage most of the game. Seat as a team will likely not see hundred yards total rushing all day. That will make them ONE DEMENTIONAL and the Steeler's D will tee off all night long!!! I hope that Seat stacks the box on the steelers, because it will be a long day for them. Seat won't be able to stop the pass. Wash had no offence and Car only had one receiver to stop and a fourth string running back, come on that is a joke. Steelers have tooooooooo many weapons on offense. Ward, Randel El, Wilison, Miller, spells a long day for Seat D and believe me Then you have FAST Willie and the BUS, pick your poison, Seat will be not be able to stop both the run and the pass. Say good night Irene. :s4:

king don, luckily you teach band and not English, your spelling is atrocious. dimensional, offense, and wilson. you don't even know the names of your steeler players! you are correct, washington had no offense, and carolina only had steve smith to contend with, but seattle's offense is much different. the leading rusher in the nfl, an all-pro qb, and three all-pro linemen. this steeler d is not invincible, they did lose five times this year. they have played well in the playoffs, but were lucky carson palmer was hurt on the first play. kitna put up 17 and he didn't play much all year.

Lets get past who played who and which team is better for a moment. Bottom line is that the only way Seattle can win this game is to be able to stop the run with their front four. If they have to sneak 8,9, or 10 in the box then Roethlisberger will play action the Seahawks to death. Cincy, Indy, and Denver failed to respect Pittsburgh's passing game and all got burned bigtime by one on one coverage that Big Ben beat.
On the other side of the ball, Seattle cant rely on Alexander to carry this team. No way the Steelers will give up 100 yds rushing. The way to beat Pitt's 3-4 zone blitzes is alot of short quick passes and yards after catch's.
In my biased opinion, I think this will be a close tight game decided in the 4th by a healthy and well rested Bettis moving the pile in crunchtime to control the clock. I'm playing Pittsburgh on the moneyline.

Carson Palmer didnt play defense so I'd say the Steelers would have won but the total might have been higher. Bengals defense sucks thats why they lost. If you look back at a few of Pittsburgh loses my man Maddox was steering the ship that day. He has played the worst I've seen in his career to date. Steelers are a different team with Roethlisberger, if your gonna choose an mvp by who is most valuable to his team then Ben has to be up there with anybody.

I'll bet there were a lot on Baltimore-18 vs the NYJ in Superbowl 3 too. This ones setting up as almost as big as a surprise, everyone hates, disrespects, underestimates the soon to be super Seahawks.

No, that's just inside your head. Most people simply think Pit's a little better or a lot better. They've watched it dominate the last couple weeks. Perhaps they remember Sea's needing a 4th quarter comback to beat Tennessee a month ago. I know that DBs were out, but it's still not very impressive.

Does anyone think Roeth. will have trouble throwing on Seattle?

Yep.....me. I think that Seattle will be in his face all night. Just as soon as they discover that the Pittsburgh running game can be stopped with the front four. Bring on the Terrible Towels ......you can use them to wipe the tears from your eyes in the fourth quarter.

Mav- to answer your question of the thread - many cappers have yet to post - so stay tuned. You've been hot with your recent predictions so stick with your pick!

Both teams have the talent to win IMO. Seattle is very balanced both on O and D, given they play a great game they can beat almost anyone. On the other hand, how can you not like Pit's dynamic playmaking defense and newfound passing game?? It'll come down to the team with the better game plan and who will make the plays at the end (diving catches, big hits, etc..) Both coaches had excellent game plans in the playoffs (throw the past years out, now is now and Cowher out coached Shanahan/Dungy).

What's intriguing is the total...first glance at the line I thought over. Now on second thought, 24-21 type game is possible. Be interested to know what others think about the over/under.

great thread. s'what this site is all about. i agree with maverick on most all sides thus far--is why i too, like Pitt.

i wont back the same seahawks who got the gift win from Bledsoe pick when in DAL to get GW FG as time expired. ((not taking anything away from SEA as much as DAL--as hawks made plays when they were there to be made, and dallas didnt--and thusly got the win)) i think we'll see that same 'hawks team--though would imagine offensivley minded holmgren throws the book at steelers--with a few nopbody has seen as yet.

from what i've seen in these playoffs--looks as if randle el is playing at another speed--and theres at least two of those polamalu guys on def is what it looks like--or he must be just watching for where the cameras pan--cuz hes always on the tube making play after play.

DISCLAIMER:
i'll admit i lost most of what i hadto play with, on CIN vs pitt--as thought then--and still do (if palmer had managed to not get hurt) cincy woulda won. as threat of long pass that palmer brought woulda stretched the field (something which i dont sea SEA being able to do)--and keep DEF less compressed to allow likes of polamalu to be everywhere when kitna ran outta gas--looking like fatigued backup he was in late 3rd and 4th quarters.

as much as i think roethlisberger has played head an shoulders above all other qb's in these playoffs--he got away with some less than stellar throws in denver game--as i recall one of first few throws HIT champ bailey in the head-and bounced up--which could've been INT'd --possobly for TD-- and would've undoubtedly change approachs/outcome of game--though it bounced up, and hines came down with.

Even better I can introduce you to mine..........he has been coming to pay me every week for the last 6 weeks.........even I am shocked at this.......but yeah that was me was said Denver and Indy had better offensive lines than Seattle.......In fact Denver and Indy were 2 teams that went into Jacksonville and won.........a task Seattle was unable to do.......not only do I think they had better offensive lines but they were better teams than Seattle........a fact also thought of by the oddsmakers as Denver and Indy were the 2 highest favorites at the opening of the playoffs

:142lmao: Exactly. Either the Steelers fans/bettors are starting to go a little overboard trying to discredit the Hawks or some people on this site haven't seen them play at all this year. What's even better is that Jakey Jakey Big Mistakey Plummer is now somehow better than Hasselbeck! Is this the same Jake Plummer who is probably the 14th or 15th best QB in the NFL? Lemme guess, pretty soon Willie Parker is going to be a better RB than Alexander?!

You can debate forever about how Plummer compares to Hasslebeck but remember Plummer had a pretty damn good year and he has won a playoff game on the road vs a pretty decent team (Dallas) when he was the starter at Arizona.......now Hasslebeck gets his chance to win a big game on the road this sunday.......we will see how he does..........
