I guess that is why they say it is important to shop for lines.....

mathematically, buying the 1/2 is a bitch,but i always buy it. i am sure there are others who are here that disagree with and are probably right, but i always buy the half. it saved me 2-3 wagers this year in the nfl. i pushed instead of losing approx. 700.00 dollars.jmo

Buy that hook. It sucks with juice when you lose but overall it has saved me a tremendous amount of money. Good luck and keep with it.

you are certainly entitled to make your own decisions with your bankroll. however, i would advise you to stay away from buying the hook. unless of course youre one of those guys that bets the crap check on the craps table and takes insurance in blackjack. stay the course man. it DOES even out in the end. the losses are cyclical. makes it tough sometimes

Buying the hook is MUCH different in the NFL as opposed to basketball. And usually on or off '3' is the only thing I would consider buying. As far as basketball goes, as gman said, it is definitely not worth it and is a losing proposition in the long run.

was more referring to the nfl. not as relevant to hoops. regardless of the math- will buy the hook down to 3 if i like the fav forever. too many ot games in the nfl and they always end on 3. typically buy it off of 7 as well. bball is much different. tired. gl either way.
