DET OR TEX

my reason on det.......no one gives them a chance. bonderman i think is a good pitcher except for the fact that he is on the tigers team and they don't score runs for him. he pitches good and with wakefield on the mound and the current under achieving role the red sox are playing i think the tigers can score some runs for bonderman tonight. the money line on the tigers is a very good price considering wakefield on the mound.....tigers could explode on him tonight but ya never no. ONLY bad thing i see is det coming from col. to bost. going across country they may be lagged.......but then again they went from det to col and took game one last series.......

my reason on tex.......OAK SUX ON THE RD PERIOD. i know rangers suck period too but this is sports and when people keep stating how zito has never lost to the rangers over and over the opposite usually happens. i know you should never bet against a streak until it is broken and rangers are losing games like its their job, but we just seen this ranger team hang with oak last week with these same pitchers and oak got very lucky winning in the late innings.......i think this ranger pitcher can control this oak team tonight and look for zito to maybe get lit up........

If it's racking your brain so bad man, then don't pick either of them. Personally I don't like either of these.

However, if I had to choose one of those games, I would probably go with Detroit.

Detroit on the road: 12-25, 3.57 runs per game.
Detroit at home: 6-29, 2.89 runs per game.

Detroit sucks no matter where they are at, but they play better ball on the road.

Boston has only won in 2 of the 6 games that Wakefield has started at home.

I don't like Texas over Oakland tonight though.

Oakland on the road: 15-19, 4.24 runs per game.
Oakland at home: 28-11, 5.18 runs per game.

Texas on the road: 11-25, 4.28 runs per game.
Texas at home: 16-21, 5.78 runs per game.

As far as runs are concerned, Texas does have the advantage here, but they are going up against Zito tonight.

Oakland has won 6 of the 8 starts Barry has made on the road.

Oakland vs. LHP: 15-7, 4.68 runs per game.
Texas vs. LHP: 7-18, 3.88 runs per game.

Oakland has done pretty well against the lefties compared to Texas.

One more thing I would like to add though is that these two teams faced each other last week.

Oakland won the game 4-3.
Zito pitched: 6 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 4 SO.
Mounce pitched: 5.2 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 SO.

So pretty much the bullpens gave up most of the runs here.

Oakland Bullpen: 13-8, 0.97 ERA, 6 BS, 2.2 IP per game.
Texas Bullpen: 9-14, 2.42 ERA, 9 BS, 4 IP per game.

Good luck on whatever you decide. Just thought I would add some insight.

OAKLAND SWEATS IT OUT IN TEXAS

OAKLAND SWEATS IT OUT IN TEXAS

HEAT INDEX is going to be 100 in Texas.--- This just may be too sweltering for Oakland.
This might be the time to catch Oakland with their pants down.

MOUNCE gave up 1 Earned run in 5.2 innings vs. Zito and Oakland
5 days ago. Huge odds on the road..
Texas for a few bucks!

Zito had 4k/3bb in 6 IP last outing vs. Tex. That is up in walks, down in strikeouts vs. career numbers. OAK bp coming off 4, 2, 3.1 IP the last 3 at home vs. SF. Rangers inexplicably hitting below .700 OPS (on base plus slugging, good stat to watch) most games recently but in their last 6 their highest number was a .707 vs. Zito.

I played Texas tonight so I am biased with these stats, but I think they are in a good spot.

One thing I forgot to add. Whatever you decide on playing, play it for a full bet. If you like Detroit or Texas, don't chicken out and play it for $50 if your normal bet is $100. Over the long haul, you are better off playing all games for the same or nearly the same amount even though the natural reaction is to lower your stake when a team faces long odds.

Well shows how much someone should listen to me.
Detroit lost and it looks like Texas might pull it out.
