You know better than to post this kind of stuff, yyz. Hopefully nobody was foolish enough to listen to you.

I like you because I am a fellow Wisconsinite and I like a lot of the insight you post on Wisconsin teams, but you should stay away from posting something that would have cost a person with a bankroll of 25 units their ENTIRE bankroll on one weekend series.

I agree with Nick here. YYZ, you know I like you and respect your opinions and I hope you don't mind me using this post as an example. I'm pretty confident you won't feel that I'm singling you out (after the fact). I actually would have posted this sooner If I had seen the thread.

Some of us (myself included) lose site of the fact that there alot of people who frequent this forum who see a guy's post who has been a member here since 415 B.C. and take it as gospel. Guys like yourself, me, Nick, and a host of others have a responsibility to this forum and that is: to post responsibly. This was not a responsible post. You stated "As for giving people bad advice, you have to take any "tip" with a grain of salt." While in theory this sounds peachy, it doesn't work that way. People follow. And they follow those who they perceive to be somewhat knowledgable.

The Double Up (or Martingale) system in ANY form of gambling is a recipe for failure. It goes against almost every ideal of gambling basics: Bad money management, lack of discipline, and chasing loses to name a few. I hope nobody followed this suggestion, but my guess is at least 1 person did. If they did, they would now be down $2717.00 and the whole idea was to win $100.00. A $100 a game bettor would most likely be done for the year.

Again, this isn't a jab at you YYZ, but more a plea for all of us to post responsibly.

On the course!
I fully understand the fact that risking that kind of jack to make $100 is outrageous. I am also sure that most everyone realizes this. Although it may have cost me credibility amongst the forum members, it was mearly an indictment of the Brewers season thus far.

If I gave you a play, and placed a rating of 1,2,3,or 4 units on it, I actually have a "handicapped opinion" on that game. This was just a "hunch". The "Martingale" is, has been, and always will be, a gamblers ruin. Perhaps this thread was well served, as it will show some people that the 4 game sweep will take you out every so often.

If it cost anyone a penny, I feel bad for that. At the same time, I highly doubt that I was the only person here who thought St Louis would pull out a victory in this series. (As I highly doubt that anyone actually wagered all 4 games blindly.)

Again, this was a bad move on my part, and I hope no one took a pounding on my post.

If nothing else ... I certainly got a chuckle out of the thread title and the picture recently added.

Actually, this thread did serve a purpose as I learned something today. As some others stated that playing anything blindly, will likely get you crushed and that anything is possible. I certainly did not expect a sweep by the Brew Crew. But many hopefully learned a lesson if nothing else.
