skillrules:
im assuming you had cal.
i had oregon myself, but unlike some -- i dont put goggles on to convince myself that just because a play wins or loses, that it was the right play. i honestly didnt have much faith in oregon coming back.
a few things of note in that 4th quarter:
* oregon allowing a touchdown on 3rd/goal from the 18 was absolutely positively inexcusable. that is terrible defensive scheming to allow that to happen
* i noticed the same thing about tedford. normally, im very conservative when it comes to late game play calling (meaning i often agree with the coaches for running the ball. sometimes, burning clock is more important than picking up 1st downs). having said that, at some point, you gotta mix in a playaction. nothing crazy. nothing down the field. just a playaction rollout where the qb can tuck it and run if its not there- essentially turning it in to a running play and burning more clock but at least having the option to pass it.
honestly, both teams defenses played very well. last 5:00 of any game always are a sweat.
definitely not one to brag about my oregon win. could have easily ended 17-14.
