I am shocked that this team gets so little spotlight for being so poorly managed. I guess when you are in a league with Matt Millen and the Cincinnatti Bengals, it is easy to be overllooked. Now let me get this straight: The Cards decide not to hold on to Plummer OR David Boston. Ok, no problem. First and foremost, why would you not franchise tag either of these guys and get at least something in a trade like the Bills did? Next question. With so much money under the cap why are the Cards not re-signing David Boston or Jake Plummer themselves? Ok I understand that Arizona is sick of Jake Plummer and they want to turn over a new leaf, but I think Arizona's next QB might have preferred David Boston (who led the league is yards a year ago) over practice squad signee Jake McAdley. Hey Arizona, if you are releasing players that are generating interest by a ton of other teams, unless you are strapped for cash maybe you shouldn't be releasing these guys. In comes the savior, the hero, the franchise.....Jeff Blake? I don't think they've signed him yet, but I heard Arizona is looking at a few washed up players. So whats next? Maybe they will overpay Emmitt Smith so that he can take away carries from a developing running back. This team needs more help than Madonna's career. No QB, but Blake could be the temporary solution, Marcel Shipp looked good at times so there is no immediate need for RB, I think they have a very solid offensive line when healthy, so I guess they are going to go for a WR. So instead of re-signing one of the better receivers in the league who is already a proven talent, they will use their high draft pick on probably Andre Johnson. Someone needs to be fired. Unless Suggs is still on the board at this point, I don't see them drafting on the defensive side of the ball. Maybe they go for Terrence Newman, but with Duane Starks coming back healthy I think their most pressing need will be Wide Receiver.

Didn't the cards sign kordell stewart?

For their first pick I think the cards should draft a new owner. They are a disgrace!

The cards signed Emmitt today to a two year contract. I would say that they are about 10 years too late for Emmitt to be a quality back.Bidwell is challenging the owners of the Bengals for the worst owner in pro sports. Although I think Cinn. has a better future than the cards.

I'm surprised nobody else in this forum is giving them any credit for being so poorly managed. They signed Emmitt Smtih? For what? He was moved out of Dallas because he was ineffective, and because he was taking carries away from a developping running back. The Cardinals just re-signed Marcel Shipp for crying out loud. What kind of a concussed jock/ ex-boxer is running this team? Does this guy have half of a brain? I could do a better job than him. Let me see, won't re-sign David Boston, a top tier receiver in his prime, but you will throw money at a washed running back when you have two young guys who are capable of the job.

Where is anybody else in this forum? They should be outraged, these guys are WORSE than the Bengals.

Dave,

Most of the posters are preoccupied either with the NCAA games or the war.

The cards are a disaster & the owner is disgustingly cheap. A few years ago there was a referendum, for the 2nd time about the cards getting a funded stadium. After the first one was defeated, bidwell threatened to move his team to LA if a new referendum was not approved. Hearing that I voted against the new stadium, hoping it would be defeated & he woulld lokk for a different city. I was hoping that Phoenix would get an expansion team & would be better run. Unfortunately it was approved & there would be a new stadium. So now we have an inferior team that fills up 1/2 the stadium.

hey I just noticed you are from the Phoenix area......

Just wondering on a side not if you have heard of the store called Last Chance. It is a clothing store in Phoenix, one of the best places I have ever shopped. The name of the store doesn't sound stellar, but you should check it out.

I used to live in Phoenix and Last Chance is the discount house for Nordstroms. They usually get new deliveries on Thursday and there is always a long line when people know the new goods are going to show up. (that was 2years ago so ask a clerk for the current delivery schedule).

Anyway, as a former Cards season ticket holder, it is shameful that they couldn't build on their playoff victory a few years ago and are now in a starting over mode again.

Just think, they had Eric Swann, Simeon Rice, Andre Wadsworth (if he could have stayed healthy) with Lassiter and Pat Tillman.

Now, name a defensive player....I didn't think any of us could plus they have lost both Boston and Frank Sanders who was a very underrated receiver.

Anyway, I see them taking Suggs if he is on the board and am hopeful that they go defense with the first pick.

dave ...this team is clueless...i also can understand getting rid of the BIG name players that come with big paytags but whats the plan?...get younger and build for the future....stack up your team onn the defensive side of the ball ...have a few players on offense that can make plays here and there and play conservative ball?....or how about let your only playmaker go...draft a player from WAKE FOREST and a wide reciever from penn state in the first round who in my opinion they could have gotten in the 2nd round and have even more question marks on thier team ??...i just dont understand what this team is trying to do...at least have a philosophy to go with and stick with it...give it a few years and if it does not work try something new....this team doesnt know if it wants to get younger ...faster...concentrate on defense or get the team far under the cap and make some runs at free agents next year...i just dont understand what direction or philosophy they are heading towards...DO YOU?

To be honest I basically think that it is ALL about money. Their owner must be very cheap. The trade down saves them money so they don't have to pay a "top ten" salary to a rookie. Instead they can pay less to 2 guys who might get the job done. The fact of the matter is that this dumb owner (can't remember his name) doesn't realize that he will lose even more money when people decide not to show up and watch this mickey mouse team play.

I guess he doesn't understand the concept of drafting/keeping your star players so that the team can build and become a contender and therefore attract fans which will in turn bring you more money.

bidwell is a disgrace,& to think that the people voted for the cards to have a new stadium is, imo, mindboggling(sp?).people can say anything they want about steinbrenner, but at least he invests to make his product better.bidwell couldn't care less if his team succeeds or not, he will still get his money.the nfl should take the franchise away from him.

I will have to say that, putting the Minnesota Vikings fiasco aside, Arizona looked like they did not have a clue or solid plan in their draft process. T. Suggs definitely would have filled a need for them and they make a trade that clearly looked to benefit New Orleans. They have no clear direction from what I have seen from their offseason.
