I hate to bring this up because i can't stand the school, but there is still a shot the dreaded trojans sneak up. they would have to win out, but they get 21 ranked oregon and then top ten teams cal and notre dame. granted all at home and granted they might not win em all, but if they do and win convincingly which is possible, they could sneak up and overtake the sec teams. maybe not enough to catch texas, but their schedule left is garbage with a&m and k. state. florida has nothing special left with two directional carolinas and a weak fsu squad before a possible sec title game. auburn has garbage alabama and georgia left.

the computers love strength of schedule and sc is getting theirs the next 3 weeks. watch carrol pull a spurrier and call time outs at the end of lopsided games to score more. it'll happen for sure.i hope they crush those 3 and move up to 2 and ucla whacks em.

a lot depends on the o.s.u/mich game and how far the loser drops.

I can't believe everyone is dismissing Cal so much.

They have one loss first game of the season on the road to an arguably tough Tenn team from the SEC.

You can't tell me if they win out meaning beating USC that they won't or shouldn't be considered for a NC spot.

Just to dismiss them because of a loss to Tenn is ridiculous.

So Cal
Louisville has been good for some time now.
If they can win out they deserve to play for a NC.
Petrino is a great coach. He turned down
HC offers from big programs before...can't remember who? IMO the reason was because he knew he had a good team that would compete for a NC sooner then later.

Albeit I would much rather see a 1 loss texas ,Florida ,or USC(homer) play in the NC game.

I think they beat USC, & if they win out sure they could be considered, but I dont think they could get there unless Louisville, Florida & Texas all lose.
