ACEISHIST8 - I hope you see this!!!!!

Hello Tara How are you!! I can't begin to thank you enough for the three packages you sent. I received them all yesterday. I was so overwhelmed and shocked when I opened these things up. They were bulging to the top with goodies. I shared allot with my fellow soldiers when I realized I couldn't possibly use these items all by myself. You and your team have been very supportive of me and the rest of the bunch in my section and we all can't thank you enough. It amazes me that someone like yourself has taken the time to organize and prepare these gifts for us not ever meeting any of us. You are truly a greatful American and it shows with your kindness. I can't wait to get home to meet and thank you all in person. You boost are moral and help us to cope with the on goings of military life. I'm glad to here your softball team is doing so well and I hope you ladies win the championship. I will be more than happy to watch one of your games next season at the Rec. You have a new numb

one fan!!!! You asked how is it here. Well were I'm at isn't to bad. Luckily I'm not up north in Iraq but I've been stationed at one of the camps in Kuwait. The weather as you imagined is very hot. Usually around 120 degrees. With August coming they expect it to be about 130. The only way I can describe it is being outside on one of the hottest days and putting a blow dryer right against your face. Throw a little sand at yourself and thats whats it's like. You get used to it so when I get home 95 degrees will be comfortable to me. Keep in touch and thank you again for everything. Your friend Joe DiPinto God Bless You and God Bless America!!! P.S. Thanks for the pictures because it was nice to put a face to the the thoughtful person I'm talking to.

TBONEZ0295- thanks for sharing the letter. Earlier this month my friend who was stationed over in Iraq returned home which was a relief to many of us. Once he knew he was coming back he had written everyone to kindly ask them to stop sending packages. When he returned home I helped him open OVER 75 packages! Aside from those were were wounded and killed over there one of the most frustrating things about this conflict was the delay in the mail sysytem. I've been told that thousands of packages are just sitting in storage areas in the Middle East and the soldiers won't get them until they are shipped out of the area. I believe it pertains to those who are constantly moving from base to base. It's nice to hear that your package actually made it to the person and the positive effect that such a small gesture can mean to others.

I'd be interested in sending packages to those who are still over there and in particular this person you've been talking with. Let me know if you have an address or what would be the best thing.

Thanks!

TB This is a great story. I am still a little dismayed that we sent a good $2-300 worth of stuff over in 4 packaged the end of May and havent heard from either guy. Consequently I sold my Navy Seals game to a guy in Bahrain over Ebay, sent it, and heard from him within a week. I dont know why it takes extra long, but either (god forbid) these guys didnt make it, or the packages never did.

ACE- after reading what bigdad wrote about the guys not getting the mail I am hoping that is what happened. At any rate I stopped sending to them . I have only been sending to the above person  hopefully that is why I never heard from them...........My kids had there classmates write letters and draw pictures back in May along with several packages and they were eagerly waiting for a response BUT NOTHING EVER CAME!

I just hope that it was due to mail problem or something like that and not worse :(
