"the bunker"
Other than bullshiit, what do we manufacture? Cars? Steel? Homes (oops)? Oil? Oh, I forgot, drill, baby, drill. Walk through your WalMart in Bowling Green and see where the products they are selling are made? Jesus Christ, even the American Flag hanging on your porch was probably made in Mexico.

technology...medical,industrial,media,defense,etc...farming....we could be producing coal, more oil and building more refineries and nuclear plants if the environmentalists could somehoew be shoved down the memory hole...

but,it`s clear the country is in a full panic.....from the media as much as the economy,i`d say...

i`m not rich and nothing much has changed for me..aside from gas prices being higher than i`d like...

but the "sky is falling" mentality will come to an end when the "chimperor" is banished "the one" is anointed....

just watch how the dialogue in the media does a 180...

we have angry blacks, racists, losers, democrats, hollywood types, academia, muslims, hindus, jews, buddhists, prisoners, all the media, europe, russia, china, arabia, al qaeda, communists and mexicans and other illegal immigrants believing that we should disarm, have nationalized medicine, eat less, be cold in winter, suffer more, and perhaps just die......

and they may get their wish...

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
You can spin it any way you want. Anymore, it's not even worthy of discussion - quoth buddy The Elder

Orders for big-ticket manufactured goods slide by largest amount in 7 months

Buddy, I trust you realize, once you think or study over it more, that posting a snapshot of current short-term data -- covering a mere blink of economic tides -- has almost nothing to do with the points I mentioned.

A much similar, but more dire such article, could be found from 1914, or 1932, or 1956, or 1974, or 1980.

I guess it was minumum wage that caused problem back in 1914, 1932, 1954, 1976 and 1980. When ever they don't have a answer they throw rocks. Of course it's always the low paid folks that break a company or chace them over seas. Never over paid and poor management. That top 4% of wealthy in this country. Better be so happy that bottom 96% has been willing to die for them and there kids in all our wars. Just so they can trickle down a cup of coffee or a beer. I through my carrer of over 40 years was on both sides of that %. And I must say the real people are in bottom 96%.
