15 K's I believe right?...hes just have a rough time adjusting to longer innings, plus his team hasn't scored squat for him...1 run today

I doubt he stays as a starter heading into September. He will adjust fine and it will just take a while. Since they should contend in September for NL East, my guess is he heads to the bullpen for the stretch run.

He looked pretty good for a while today. Just needs to build up arm strength again and you can only do that by gradually building your pitch count

are you kidding? 15 k's. Got into and out of jams today. Had overpowering stuff and for about 6 innings they couldn't even touch him. Cox kept him in for the 8th because he was one strikeout from a franchise record. But he had thrown 100+ pitches and ran out of gas. He will be strong this year and will be a key as STARTER in the playoffs.

not a chance he goes to the pen, even if Kolb goes down, which could happen, they will trade for someone like an Urbina. He will be starting game 1 or 2 of the playoffs, when they win the division again.

Smoltz is old. Lets face it, Braves forced to play the old man.

Season wears on Smotzie goes down in flames.
