I think Notre Dame is going to be an awesome team next year, but come on B Quinn 1st in the draft. I like Quinn but I don't like him that much.... He's 6-3 225 and has a great offense and coordinator behind him, it seems as though you put anyone behind Notre Dame as QB they would have a great year.

Being an athlete and all I know how it feels to be put in the lime light, and I'm telling everyone, this kid does have the potential to be a great ball player, but by pumping him up like this I hope that doesn't screw him up mentally. Notre Dame does have a good coach and hopefully he will bring him down to earth.

I feel like Quinn's biggest flaw is trying to do too much and that's when the INT's start to come with him. The kid is a prototype of Brady for New England if he can be simple, but I feel like people saying ALREADY he will go #1 in next years draft is like saying every other QB in the league is 0 compared to B Quinn and That I know will prove to be false. And, an ignorant statement to say so early

I know right....

I just cannot see how Brady Quinn can go #1 to a team that really needs a QB in the NFL next year after this years QB rich Draft.

Especially since Bush, prolly the best player I've seen since I've been watching Ncaa Football very closely, (~6 years) went second in the draft.....

Espn sux sometimes.....I just hate what they do to sports sometimes I guess.

Quinn is 6-4 231lbs and has a stronger arm than Lienart, Young, and Cutler. All of the scouts who evaluated him last year said he can make all of the throws in the NFL game. He will be a great QB. In his first year under Weis he had over 3300 yards and 32tds/7picks.

As far as, who will go first overall it really depends on who will have the first pick. If a team needs a QB Quinn will go first... If teams need something else, which is a real chance then Quinn won't go first.

That's a joke.....Diapers If ESPN is wrong than fine so be it....but those were the stats the other day. As for his arm we all know this is BS...at least I hope we do......between school, soccer, and my fiance Ncaa football was my life last year and hell I made a ton of money off of Quinn and that Tennesee game.....However, Quinns arm compared to Jake Cutler is like comparing my mom's arm to my Dad's.

Also to throw out V Young like that comparing him against Quinn :scared .....I'm sure that would stir up some stuff.

Last year I also called that Cutler would prolly have the game of his life against Tenn and throw the hell out of the ball. Cutler single handedly won that game last year.....You put Quinn with Vandy and see how good he looks.....

Quinn looks good because:
1) he is pretty good
2) he's on a great team
3) He's a pretty boy

Media love pretty boys...

To me right now Quinn is the most overrated QB on the market from what I saw last year.....(this is hype based) I think this kid is good but not Draft #1 good----- To me he'd be a good 2rd stringer to Tom Brady....and you could call them the brady bunch....

I'm no nostradamas though

Ask any NFL personel and they will tell you Quinn has a stonger arm than Cutler and Young.

There were over 17 coaches at the USC/Notre Dame game last year and 15 of them said Quinn was the better prospect over Lienart.

BTW - Who cares what BSPN says. After the firing of Loosingham most of those knuckleheads said ND would never make it to another BCS game or be relevant in the college game anymore. How quickly do we forget. BSPN always jump on the latest craze and take it way too far...

I'm 100% on your side Diapers....Good luck and I hope to speculate further in o6.....Next season is going to be A LOT OF FUN....I'm pullin for the Irish as I have them as #2 and OSU #1out of the gates....we will see....Best of luck

However, i do not agree on Quinn having an arm like Cutler....No one in the draft has an arm like this guy.....He can throw it out of the stadium(figuratively speaking)....And I guess I've taken from your response that you have spoken to these NFL scouts....

Lets be reasonable. The fellas on ESPN are just making their annual predictions. Its all part of the draft's media hype. There was nothing left to talk about except who to look forward to next year. Some guys are over the top in predicting Quinn as #1, anyone who predicts this early is a little over the top...lets not make a mountain out of a molehill..

Nobody was calling him the "guarantee of the century" to be #1, they're just speculating. Even as an ND fan, I actually disagree with the predictions...especially after what we just saw in this draft: NFL teams will pass on QB almost as fast as they pass on kickers...ask Matt Leinhart

Those who doubt Quinn's ABILITY to be the #1 pick are in for a shocker though. Its true that arm strength doesnt equal success at QB. While Quinn has almost as strong an arm as you'll find, he does still need to develop in the overall passing attack; my 78 year old grandmom can lob a ball into the end zone for big ole Samearuiekjgrej (however you spell it) to catch...unfortunately QB is more of an art form than fade routes and screen passes, and until Brady Quinn can be a better passer in the overall game, no he isnt a #1 overall pick. However, given his marked development last offseason, I guess alot of folks are counting on peak performance this season. If you look at his first 2 seasons, and the drastic improvement displayed last year, its obvious we're witnessing a developing QB. If that development continues at the same pace it has the last year or so, he certainly "could" be in the top 3 next draft...

But I'm supersticious and all this hype probably did was jinx him...

It's refreshing to listen/read intelligent college football discussion. You guys ever take a gander at the CBS College football forums?
:nono: :nono:
Bunch of children over there name-calling all day. Don't ask me why I waste my time.

In my opinion, most of the hype around B Quinn stems from the hype around Weis, and his success with quarterbacks in the past (goes without saying who we're talking about here).
I think the mouth-pieces over at ESPN are expecting that with another year under Weis, Quinn should come out stronger in '06 which would most certainly vault him to the top of the QB prospect list for the '07 draft.

The fact is, it will depend on what the team with the #1 pick needs. My guess is the Dallas Cowboys go ahead and take Quinn with the #1 pick next year since TO will have run Bledsoe out of town by then.

So Cal
I think B.Quinn is a superstar in the making!
The pressure of Program Prestige dropping fast
The hiring of Weiss offensive guru , no need to list his accomplishments. Being able to produce big numbers like that in his first season with Weiss is impressive. He led his team like a champion against USC .N.D played a better game(should of won).
If Quinn continues to develope as well as he did last season &
wins the Heisman or a national champioship then he would prolly go # 1
IMO if N.D' defense can improve from last season they are big time contenders

He is the perfect qb for the ND offense and the numbers he will put up this year will be huge with weiss calling the shots.

Another thing is that because he is being molded by Weiss, he will be regarded as a great prospect by the nfl

Being with Weiss will only rise his nfl stock

He will be a great nfl quarterback

It is remarkable how this kid improved under Weiss. I realize he would have improved anyways with experience, but he's gone from the Irish zero to the Irish hero in a couple years.

Yr Comp ATT YDS PCG YPA LG TD INT RTNG
2003 157 332 1831 47.3 5.52 85 9 15 13 93.52
2004 191 353 2586 54.1 7.33 54 17 10 25 125.87
2005 292 450 3919 64.9 8.71 80 32 7 20 158.40

Granted having Jeff Smargia sp? is nice, but he was solid last season. However, I still think Notre Dame is going to lose a couple games this year. They have a very tough early schedule and unless they are clicking on all cylinders and figured out how to play pass defense, they are going to lose once or twice in their first 4 games.

Weis...

Good points DD... However, one of the reasons he's is flourished under Weis is that Loosingham didn't know how to pick up a blitz. I thought he was going to get killed his first two years.

Their pass defense will get a lot better this year. Everyone is back and most of the secondary was starting the first time in the backfield.

A. Wooden - Is already projected by many scouts to be the 6th best corner in the nation...

Zbikowski - Has only started 11 games as a safety in college and he was named to many all american teams. He played QB and numerous positions on defense in HS.

Duke - Will improve and there are some highly touted recruits pushing for his spot.

M. Richardson will probably lose his spot sometime in mid season by D. Walls (five star) or R. McNeil (4 or 5 star by publications).

Furthermore, ND will get it's best receiver back this year: :com: Rhema Mcknight who hurt his knee in the Michigan game. That opened it up for J. Smardizja

ND's schedule is a killer in the beginning if they can start 3-1 I will be happy...
