Ok, here is the deal, we are in a weight loss competition at work and it ends in 2 weeks. It started Jan 1, ends March 17 and it based on total body % lost. I started at 203 and I am down to 190. I lost this 13 pounds the right way... exercising and reducing calories/eating healthy. I figure if I can drop 5-10 more pounds, I can pretty much guarantee I will win. we have 20 guys at $25, so it will be a nice payday. We weigh in on the first of each month, so everyone knows where they are. Right now, I am have the best %, but not by much. I have a feeling people will step it up the last 2 weeks.

I generally burn about 500-600 calories a day exercising (mostly cardio, a little weight strengthing) which I plan to continue to do. I also plan to limit my H20 intake the last 24-48 hours to reduce water weight (as well as hitting the sauna the morning of our weigh in). I do not want to take any type of pills and this is only temporary, as when this competion is over I will go back to my counting calories and exercise routine

My thought is to basically do the Atkins diets because everyone I know that does it, drops pounds quickly. I figure I can live on chicken, eggs and veggies for 2 weeks. Long term, cutting water and carbs is not great, but it is only 2 weeks, so I am not too worried.

What other tips will help in quick weight loss?

Don't go to far too fast because your body will change the way it metabolizes. Go with what you have been doing but remember when you stop you will gain it back..

You could always buy the other guys donuts!

Check out a 10 or 14 day cleanse program. I lost a huge amount of weight using Isagenix.

Follow the directions and ask a Dr. before starting any weight loss program.

Do you like beer? :mj07:

unfortunately YES :00hour

I have cut it down, but just like anything else, I fit it into my calorie intake. If I drink, or know I am going to drink, I just reduce some food intake or step up my excercise to burn the calories.

Not too worried because I have been on a good plan for over 2 months and it is only 2 weeks. Not too worried if I can the 10 pounds back as I am trying to artifically drop it. I am not worried about gaining the other 13 back because after the 2 weeks, I plan to stick to my normal regiment. I am just trying to drop the 'fake' pounds over the next 2 weeks

Tried the donut/cookies/snacks route already. The guys that have a chance to win pass and I just end up feeding the one's who have no chance.

Why cut back on calories when you can simply cut off an arm instead?

Cut off your left arm and eat all you want these next two weeks.

figure that arm hanging there weighs maybe 30 pounds or so? and you can still eat those ho-ho's and ding dongs in front of your co-workers and flaunt that extra cash you made off their non-committed@sses.

Good point and you probably won't be thinking about eating so you get a double bonus!

Hell I don't know
I can tell you what works great for me. Slim fast shake in the morning. Decent size lunch. Eat whatever you want for dinner but before 6:30 pm. Exercise after that then a healthy light snack or slimfast shake before bed. I've always been around 150 pounds. After I had a stroke and heart surgery a few years back I went to 198 pounds. I've done this for the last 4 months and I weigh 152 pounds and I'm in great shape again!
good luck

all fruit and vegatable diet did it for me.....about 5-6 lbs a week....you can eat as much as you like, only fruits and veggies though....can also use franks, tobasco, mustard, spices.....use apple sauce as an oil replacement in recipes....or for cooking fries in oven.....easy stuff

also when you drink do gin or vodka with soda and lemon or lime........about 80 calories/drink

do whatever it is the fighters do to cut weight before weigh-ins. I'm not sure what it is, but I know they cut a ton and are able to cut entire weight classes.

If you want quick results stop eating carbs:

no bread
potatoes
rice
wheat products
pop/diet pop
juices..........to much sugar
candy

EAT:

lean meat of any kind
chicken
fish
salad
veggies
eggs
cheese
lots of water

Completely agree with this - I am currently doing exactly what you wanted to do before my trip to Hawaii...trying to lose the flab around the waist over 2.5 weeks. Have been on the no/low carb diet pretty much as above, and have dropped 10 pounds in 13 days - including one night of several vodka/cranberries and then whiskey/diet 7-ups a week ago Saturday, and last Saturday hitting a few screwdrivers. If you want to drink, do any of the liquors like vodka/gin, etc without carby mixes. zero carbs in those, plus some fun. I have not been totally no carb - have been at two weekend hoops tourneys and suffering looking at the pizza/sloppy joe/tacos/candy, etc. Didn't starve myself or completely do without, but was smart. Had a sloppy joe with no bun, had a taco in a bag dorito thing which wasn't too bad, have eaten lots of eggs and deli meat and cheese, salad, got some Quaker Mini Delights and had one in the morning, very little eating late at night. Sugar/Carb free jello with some whipped cream, same kind of pudding.

I've kind of cheated, but lost 10 pounds along the way. When starving, I'll throw down some peanuts or jerky, or just grab some deli meat and sliced cheese.

The biggest thing for me was cutting out sugar and Pepsi, and not eating crap late at night. You work out more than I do, I only play basketball once a week and work out some with the boy w/indoor baseball. I hope to continue modifying my behavior with food and sugar after the trip, and maintaining a lighter weight moving forward.

Good luck to you. Common sense and a lot of tips in this thread should bring it home.

Wear a rubber suit with lots of sweats. Sit on top of a heater or go to a suana. You will lose a lot of water weight. Just make sure you have some gatoraide or something like it because you will be dehydrated. Spit a lot, chew gum or get some chew to make you salaviate. You can easily lose another 2-3 pounds this way. I lost 14 pounds in one night before a wrestling match. Its is hard on the body. JUst make sure you repenish your fluids.
