Wear a rubber suit with lots of sweats. Sit on top of a heater or go to a suana. You will lose a lot of water weight. Just make sure you have some gatoraide or something like it because you will be dehydrated. Spit a lot, chew gum or get some chew to make you salaviate. You can easily lose another 2-3 pounds this way. I lost 14 pounds in one night before a wrestling match. Its is hard on the body. JUst make sure you repenish your fluids.

were you in the movie visionquest?

Ok, here is the deal, we are in a weight loss competition at work and it ends in 2 weeks. It started Jan 1, ends March 17 and it based on total body % lost. I started at 203 and I am down to 190. I lost this 13 pounds the right way... exercising and reducing calories/eating healthy. I figure if I can drop 5-10 more pounds, I can pretty much guarantee I will win. we have 20 guys at $25, so it will be a nice payday. We weigh in on the first of each month, so everyone knows where they are. Right now, I am have the best %, but not by much. I have a feeling people will step it up the last 2 weeks.

I generally burn about 500-600 calories a day exercising (mostly cardio, a little weight strengthing) which I plan to continue to do. I also plan to limit my H20 intake the last 24-48 hours to reduce water weight (as well as hitting the sauna the morning of our weigh in). I do not want to take any type of pills and this is only temporary, as when this competion is over I will go back to my counting calories and exercise routine

My thought is to basically do the Atkins diets because everyone I know that does it, drops pounds quickly. I figure I can live on chicken, eggs and veggies for 2 weeks. Long term, cutting water and carbs is not great, but it is only 2 weeks, so I am not too worried.

What other tips will help in quick weight loss?

any steam baths or steam rooms anywhere near you?....

you can sweat 5 or 10 pounds off the night before if money`s on the line........if you`re not to old and in good health...

on second thought,i`d check with somebody at the facility before you try it...

That is what I was looking for... I know it can be done, boxers/wrestlers/etc seem to be a ble to drop 5-8 in days... how do they do it???

They do it because they are athletes; they burn more calories in a day sitting around then most of us burn after an hour in a gym.
When it comes time to cut weight, they consume 2000 calories for a few days instead of their normal 5000+ and they also limit their water intake, thereby dehydrating themselves.
Once they weigh in, they re-hydrate and eat their regular amount of calories and basically return to their training weight.
If you watch a UFC fight and the fighters weighed in at say, 170 lbs, you can be sure neither of them enter that ring at less than 180, and some, like Matt Hughes in his prime, probably enter the ring at 185 plus.
Weigh-ins for fights usually take place 36+ hours before the fight; plenty of time for the fighters to put 5-15 lbs back on before fight time.

I do cardio everyday well 4-5 days a week(. Usually 40 minutes on the eliptical (burn about 500 calories) and 20-30 minutes of weight strengthing.

Did good today, had probably less than 10 carbs. Was really craving a snack in the afternoon. Someone pointed out that if I need a crunch snack fix to go with pork rinds. Got a bag of BBQ flavored pork rinds.. weren't all that great (not even that good), but they did help with the crunch fix

From everything I am reading, if you eliminate the carbs (almost completely), you can have the fat and still drop the pounds.

They were actually a lot less fatty than I thought they would be. they are about 5g of fat (2g sat) per serving. The bag was 2 servings. The are very high in salt though

Salt will retain water though. Well you got the craving out of the way anyway. Popcorn ?

Been carb free for 10 days (limited myself to no more than 15), and I have lost 7 pounds :00hour

Been consuming about 1500-1700 calories a day, mostly cheese, egg, hamburger, lunch meat, sausage and chicken (not a seafood person). I have been trying to burn between 400-600 a day on treadmill/eliptical, so gross calories is about 1100/day.

Feel confident I can lose 3 more in 4 days. I will probably hit the sauna the morning of weigh in to shed extra water weight.

Thanks for the suggestions and input, it is working well.

The cocaine is getting expensive, but you have to do what you have to do :mj07:

it's too late now, but I remembered and talked to my buddy who fights MMA and I asked him how to cut weight. What you could have done before the weigh in was get in the sauna and stay there for hours. Drink plenty of water during the process, but he said you'll sweat off say 15-20 pounds EASY if you weigh 200. For quick weight loss, the sauna is the way to go, and that's how the professional fighters weigh in at 185 on a Thursday and fight 20 pounds heavier on a Saturday. It's all water weight. Lots of running will also take off the weight.

That is what I did. I went to the sauna for about 45 minutes and it did the trick. At weigh in, I was able to drop 11.5 pounds. The atkins for 2 weeks cut about 8 pounds and the last 3.5 was from the sauna.

Go lytely

Go lytely

Drink a gallon of go-lytely 12 hours before.. You will be all cleaned out but you could still be crapping your brains out at work that day... but seriously the atkins diet should do the trick with exercise

Yes I did!!! I lost 12.1%, nearest person was around 9.5%

I have gained most of the 'carb free' weight back. Actually, in about 3 days it was back. :0corn
I have not gained anything back that I lost prior to that (about 15 pounds). I am actually trying to drop those pounds the right way, but it is hard when I keep spending the money on wings and beer :mj07:
