I LOVE THIS GAME............PHILLY -200 AND I LIKE PHILLY -4. PHILLY GETS YET A THIRD CHANCE IN THREE YRS TO GO TO THE SUPERBOWL. YOU CAN CALL ANDY REID A CHOKER OR THAT PHILLY CAN'T STOP THE RUN, BUT THE SIMPLE FACT IS GREEN BAY WAS NOT A TEAM A DESTINY IT WAS THIS PHILLY EAGLES TEAM. BEG. OF SEASON, EVERYONE KNOWS THE STORY BY NOW 0-2 HEADHUNTERS AND THEN THEY RATTLE OFF A HUGE STREAK. ST.L SOMEHOW LOSES TO THE LIONS GIVING PHILLY A MIRACLE HOMEFIELD ADV. IN PLAYOFFS, 4TH AND 26 NO CHANCE IN HELL TO MAKE THAT AND LOW AND BEHOLD BOOM FIRST DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BACK TO NOT BEING ABLE TO STOP THE RUN.......WELL MAYBE YOU DON'T HAVE TO...PHILLY LOST TO SF NOT A VERY GOOD RUN TEAM BUT BEAT PRIOR TO THAT GB MIA CAR AND DAL ALL GOOD RUN TEAMS AND THEY ALL GOT THEIR YDS RUNNING THE BALL. SO IMO CAR CAN RUN THIS SUNDAY AND STILL GET BEAT DOWN.....DON'T ASK ME HOW THEY DO IT THEY JUST HAVE DONE IT ALL YR AND I DONT' THINK THIS GAME CHANGES.

ALSO YOU HAVE MR. D AS THE CAR. QB AND A NIGHT GAME IN PHILLY WHO WANTS IT SOOOOOO BAD, I JUST CAN'T SEE HIM HAVING THE GAMES HE HAS BEEN HAVING.......MCNABB WILL SOMEHOW ELUDE THIS FRONT FOUR AND SHOW HIS CRITICS UP YET AGAIN...............

THIS IS MY FAV GAME OF THE PLAYOFFS PHILLY TO GO TO THE SUPERBOWL YOU HAVE TO RISK THE -200 BUT ITS FREE MONEY....AND WHY NOT DABBLE ON THE -4????

CAR 10 PHILLY 27

I agree with alot that you have said. Some of my concerns on Philly is they seem to be just hanging by a thread. I mean 4th
and 29 and they make a first down. That kind of luck usually don't
continue. They should have never been in that postion in the first place.

And McNabb is sacked 8 times ? He runs for 100 yards almost for his life. He will not be able to do that against Panthers IMO.

I noted weakness in Phillys game way back when they played the Atlanta Falcons. There was just something missing. I would almost say its killer instinct but they have won some close games this year.

Westbrook being out really hurts them as they advance. Is he out for the season ?

good luck

I don't see how people can like philly in this game. After 2 weeks to prepare, their offense was terrible. Mcnabb escaped for a few big plays and he converted that long 4th and 26 and the packers made some questionable coaching decisions. The Panthers front four will not let Mcnabb do the same, and the Eagles receivers will not be able to exploit the weankness of Carolina's defense - which is the secondary.

Meanwhile, the Panthers walked into St Louis as a touchdown underdog and lead by 11 with minuteds to go. They basically controlled the whole game.

I will say that the Eagles are well coached and have a good defense, but I argue the Panthers are equally good on defense, have more playmakers on offense, and play better special teams.

If Philly wins, I think they pull out a close one - no way I'd lay 4pts with them.

I'm playing Carolina + 4.5 and ML +180.

good luck

people say there are certain bandwagon teams that people pick up in the playoffs and they get burned by them......everyone was saying colts after the den game was that bangwagon team....well guess what wrong again. your bandwagon team of the playoffs is carolina.......playoff ftball is just something you have or don't, and i am soooo confident that car will not show up sunday that if philly loses i will change my quote to "all those who believe in carolina are far more intelligent in the gaming world then I." however WHEN philly wins (prob covers) my new quote will read "suck my balls carolina and all your followers."

I AM COCKY BECAUSE I OWN THIS GAME

Puckfan - I think you hit the nail on the head - Carolina was up 11 with minutes to go - and couldn't seal that deal. This is a quality team, but I don't think I trust them in a big spot - Carolina was looking to give that game away last weekend but Martz was too stupid to take it.

I know that you can chalk me up to being a homer and inherently biased, but I think one stat tells the tale. The Eagles were on the brink of losing - and their defense held the Packers to three points in the second half to give their team a chance. To me that's a statistic that can not be overlooked.

I like your confidence first off.

If you don't believe in your plays you are doomed before you start.

If you are counting on Carolina not showing up then
you may be in for a loss. You got blinders on the horse.

Let me ask you this. And I know we can debate this until the cows come home but its important not to be on the same side as the public most of the time.

Who is the public play in this game ?

Lets talk about it maybe you can convince me.

Been on them since they started their streak and laid off, or took the pts., when I needed to. Another good game and I like the call with Philly winning by more than 4.

This team has played just to win the last couple of games, or most of the games, and now, this time, I think they smell the Super Bowl and are fired up about it.

I said in mid season, McNabb or McNair, well, I am all over this guys. I just hope they don't have to run into Peyton, because he is looking really good right now!

PUBLIC IS WITHOUT A DOUBT ON CAR. IN GAME GB VS PHILLY EARLY LINE WAS PHILLY -6 (SOURCE HELLAH10) AND CONTINUED TO DROP AS THE GAME UNFOLDED. IT WAS AT 5.5 5 4 DROPPING IN A HURRY AND ITS ONLY TUE. MONEY LINE DROPPING AT FAST RATES AS WELL -240 SUNDAY NIGHT AND NOW -200 -195 IN SOME PLACES????? I THINK THE PUBLIC IS THE ONES WITH THE BLINDERS ON SCOTT.

LAST WEEKEND I FEEL PUBLIC WAS ON GB AND I BELIVE THAT WAS A GOOD CHOICE BRINGING THAT LINE DOWN IN THE SAME RESPECT 5.5 TO LIKE 4 SAME SITUATION HERE BUT I BELIEVE VERY DIFFERENT RESULTS FROM WHAT I STATED ABOVE.

LINE ALMOST SAYING HURRY UP AND GET ON CAR BEFORE IT DROPS ANYMORE....VERY VERY BAD MOVE:nono:

HEY SCOTT, I'm with one here. I think the public play is definitley Carolina. This is the bandwagoon team for many reasons, heres a few while I have time--

1. The big winning streak
2. Steve Smith, you know, the thug that came up,or grew up
3. Delhomme, spell, the quarterback out of now where to play excellent for a while there, much like Warner from CFL, or Brady.
4. Over all perception of the Eagles as opposed to Panthers

Just a few, gotta go back to work

I think your wrong. Public play is Philly. Think about it.
At home, cold weather (public thinking), McNabb, carolina
won't show up.

Just for a second agree Philly is the public play.

Under this hypothetical situation why would the line move ?

You have to think about both sides of this IMO.

I am not trying to change your mind as I don't care who you
play. I am trying to make my own game decision.

thanks

scott,

have to disagree that philly is the public play right now.

the "at home, cold weather(public thinking)" was last weeks game.

i would bet that right now, early in the week, what's still on the public's mind is "philly squeaked out an ugly win(4th and 26), while getting sacked 8 times, and giving up a gazillion yards on the ground."

also on their mind is"carolina went into st louis and beat a team in the dome where they hadn't lost all year"

stand around any water cooler for a while and ask every armchair quarterback who they like in the philly game this week, and i bet alot of them say carolina. and they are all saying it based on last week's games only.

i know you like to read between the lines to find the winner. sometimes you might want to read between the lines of your own comments.

we can learn alot from what we say, i know i do;)

i haven't come up with any play in this game yet, still looking for the edge. i'll let you know if i find it.

good luck to you.

Pardon the interruption. . .
but how can you lay 4 or more points in this game?
McNabb has got to be the most inconsistent quarterback in the playoffs. For the entire first half of the Packer game, he fired most of his bullet passes at his receivers' ankles, or five feet in front of them. In the second half he made some big plays. . . mostly by scrambling. Then the modern miracle on 4th and 26th. That play can be attributed to the moron who called the deep zone pass defense for the Packers.

I've got to take Carolina and 4'. If the Eagles win, I can see it on a last second field goal. But no more than that. IF the Eagles win big, I'll be the first one to say "GREAT CALL", but I just don't see it happening.

Good luck.

Philly and Carolina

Philly and Carolina

Did anyone watch the first time these two teams played. Philly couldn't stop the Carolina offense. If it weren't for Kasey missing three short field goals and a extra point they probably win the first meeting. Everyone's reading to much into if this is a public play or not. I guarantee you by Sunday every service play will be on the Eagles. These playoffs have shown one thing. There is not one good team coming out of the NFC this year. The AFC is truly a lot better than the NFC. Philly, Green Bay, Carolina, and St Louis all had major deficiencies. Philadelphia's many injuries have made them very vulnerable to the run and their wide recievers are average at best. Carolina's secondary is extremly weak but will the Eagles be able to expose it. I can't ever remember a worse 1st seed than the Eagles are this year. Good luck to you on your plays this weekend but I would be shocked to see this game won by more than a TD by either team.

well, people around my water cooler like the eagles - i think they're more of a 'public team'. people read about mcnabb's heroics - and fewer [people know of carolina. i think on paper the panthers are a more balanced team, but some intanglibles like home field and the tenacity of andy reid & mcnabb zre big. im betting that fox and the panthers will show up for this game, make it very close, and have a chance to win at the end.

agreed puckfan.
Steve Smith will have another HUGE GAME with at least one touchdown. He is having a playoffs like Sharpe for the Ravens or Troy Brown for the Patriots. He has that Big Play ability to be a difference maker and take Carolina to the Big Game, and maybe win it!

McNabb has got to be the most inconsistent quarterback in the playoffs. QUOTED BY THE FIX.

THATS GREAT CONSIDERING HE ONLY PLAYED ONE GAME SO FAR THIS YR. HE HAD A BAD GAME AND THEY WON, WHAT HAPPENS IF HE HAS A GOOD GAME????? THOSE FOUR PTS ARE THERE TO CONFUSE YOU. LOGIC SAYS PLAYOFF GAME CHAMPIONSHIP GAME CLOSE GAME, TAKE THE PTS. I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT YOU COULD DO A 7 PT TEASER ON CAR. AND STILL LOSE THAT BET!!!

I love your extreme cockiness I'm not the one, it makes me feel even better about my Carolina play. POSTED BY DIZZAYTON. WELL THANKS DIZZ I AM GLAD BY ME LIKING A TEAM YOU ARE CONVINCED THAT YOU WILL WIN.....I ALWAYS BRAG ON THIS FORUM AND LOSE......GOOD LOGIC  I POST WHEN I THINK I HAVE A HAMMER PLAY AND THIS TIME I THINK I HAVE ONE.

Not convinced, I just think that when someone hypes something up and gets to confident the opposite often occurs. Not always, but often. Good luck. Carolina is a tough squad, if Philly wins they deserve to go to the BIG GAME.

Van

That Carolina win was ugly. I don't think anyone respects the Panthers after that game.

Van I really am trying to decide. And I do like to look for that one bit of info that will give me the edge.

Public may be saying that S Davis will not play and the Panthers running game is screwed. Did anyone see that Foster ? He had 95 yards for 4.5 avg. That guy should run through the Eagles for 150 yds. That may be the edge we need.

Just can't play these games without thoughfull consideration. No need to bash people. We can all give out our ideas. Then we make the play.

Let me know if you see that edge......Good luck to you also.
