I'm not the one,
I don't think I said anywhere in my comments that I based my opinion solely on that one game, although I did refer to his most recent effort to point out some of his inconsistencies. Since I live in an area that gets all of the Redskin's games, I also get to watch a fair amount of Eagles games. Since McNabb has been an Eagle, I don't know how many times I've seen him throw balls at players feet. Too many to count. He's just not consistent enough for me to place my hard earned money on his abilities. He came through for me last week, and I expect him to do the same this week.

Sunday will tell.

Good luck.

Hey one, this is a very good thread so don't get discouraged by anyones opinion

I love the Eagles as you probably already know, and will be laying on them hard the last two games. Not being cocky or anything but I haven't missed a beat in the playoffs--

YES MCNABB LOOKED PRETTY POOR AS A PASSER LAST WEEK I CAN AGREE WITH YOU THERE, BUT DID YOU SEE THE OTHER ASPECT OF HIS GAME....THE RUSH!!! COUNTLESS TIMES HE WAS SACKED BUT COUNTLESS TIMES THEY JUST COUDLNT GET TO HIM. IF ONE ASPECT OF HIS GAME IS NOT WORKING YOU CAN DAMN WELL BELIVE THE OTHER ONE WILL BE, ESPICALLY THIS WEEKEND. THERE WAS AN OFF WEEK, PERHAPS THEY WERE PLANNING FOR THE WRONG TEAM??? WHO KNOWS??? THIS WEEK THEY ARE SOLEY PLANNING FOR THE PANTHERS AND THE PANTHERS ALONE. HOME FIELD IS MOST OVER RATED ASPECT OF A GAME BUT THIS WEEK I THINK IT COMES INTO PLAY. EAGLES ARE TOUGH AND FIGHTERS, NOT TO TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM THE PANTHERS THEY WERE WARRIORS THIS YR I GIVE THEM ALL THE CREDIT THEY DESERVE. PHILLY WILL BE SOOOOO READY THIS WEEK PANTHERS WILL HAVE NO SHOT....AND I STICK TO MY GUNS SAYING THAT YOU CAN TEASE THIS GAME 7PTS AND STILL POSSIBLY LOSE.

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
IMO Philadelphia comes into this postseason as a flawed football team, with the big game abilities of Donovan McNabb as the X factor that gives them a chance to get further than they otherwise would, and I think most of what I just said was proven true in the Green Bay game that Philadelphia had almost no business winning. I'm not sure how much I like Carolina this Sunday, but concerns about McNabb's ability remain prominent in my capping. But those are just my opinions. But what I know for a fact is that my pocketbook has not gotten any lighter during the last four years by finding lots of spots to like Philadelphia because of and not in spite of McNabb's tangible qualities to produce and his intangible attributes in leading and winning (ATS numbers of 10-6-2 in 2000, 13-5-1 in 2001, 11-7 in 2002, and 11-6 in 2003, for a ridiculous four year run of 45-24-3). So I'd say it's rather harsh to say "(h)e's just not consistent enough for me to place my hard earned money on his abilities."

I believe the most overated stat of the plyoffs is having the two weeks off. Look at the four teams that had it. N.E. wins by three, doesn`t cover. St. Louis and K.C. both get beat. Philly is rusty but squeaks by G.B. with a lot of luck and bad coaching and a dumb pass by Favre. They will be a lot tougher this week, mark my words. How often has a first year head coach(Fox) and first year starting Q.B(Delhomme) won a conf. title, never mind a Super bowl. I see a close game, but a win for Philly for sure.

Just another opinion,good luck folks.

No need to bash people. We can all give out our ideas. Then we make the play.

Let me know if you see that edge......Good luck to you also.

scott, pretty sure you understood i wasn't bashing you, i believe you were referring to others in this thread?

getting back to what i originally said...

i know you like to read between the lines to find the winner. sometimes you might want to read between the lines of your own comments.

i followed up with...

we can learn alot from what we say, i know i do

i have on more than one occassion this year gone through my own thread, and found the "edge" i was looking for, based on what i may have posted, both before and after a play, and told myself the winning play was right in front me...and it came out of my own big mouth.:D

really like panthers here.. i don't think eagles will score much on carolina's d..eagles receivers won't see much daylight and if gb can sack donavan 8 times, can't imagine how many times the cats will get him..also i can see cats with 40+ rushing attempts.. so i think 17 points by carolina wins it..perhaps 17/10 panthers..gl2all

I agree

I agree

I certainly believe coach reid will make delhomme beat them. That means eight in the box and blitzes from all over. carolina will have to play much better in this stadium then they did the second half of the st. louis game. davis is much more of a threat than foster, because its much harder to make those quick cuts on grass, then davis"s ability to run north and south. I think the philly D, will come up with some turnovers and win by a couple scores, say 27-13. I like team to play alot better than they showed last week vs. the packers. Look for both home teams to cover and play much better against teams they both know very well.I love the n.e game over as my top play and agree philly will be in the super game as well. good luck -30-

well i just made my mind up on my bet........i had a dream play last night and i am 13-1 in my dream plays.......i know i havn't documented most of them but you can ask hellah10 for the documentation. whenever i have a dream play and the favorite in the dream wins they usually win pretty convincingly in real life....the lone loss was notre dame vs usc this yr and that game my dream had nd winning but they were a dog......12 out of the 14 games were ALL ftball fav's college and pro......i know most of you guys could give a big rats ass about my superstitions but since i liked philly by 10+ in the first place i think i will lay the 4 now......

let the hammer come downeth
