yeah, had cali SMALL against the Vols....glad i didn't bet too much this weekend....better to wait for the dust to settle and teams to find their groove.

I don't know how anyone in their right mind can bet HUGE on the 1st week games and NOT lose their shirt...??

Don't feel bad hokie, i had kent st +16..........
I will save you some time checking the scoreboard, they lost by 44.

But at least it was a shootout. 44-0

My first play of the year was the biggest blowout of the week!

Toledo covered as well. However, the MAC looked horrid IMO. My high school team (alma mater) plays far better defense than Nothern Illannoy... of course, my high school team won their opener 73-0 and have kids going to Iowa, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma.

I think it just varies by person and capping style. Over the past five years, I have had BY FAR my most success in the first three weeks of the season. The three most profitable single weeks of college football I've had in my life (started in fall of 1998) have been: 1. Opening weekend 2005; 2. Opening weekend 2003; 3. Opening weekend 2006. I don't know why this is.

I can't pick shit once the conference play starts up, but for some reason I am nails on the early games. I've never lost on an opening weekend in nine years, and conversely, I've never turned an overall profit in any October. Now if only I had the discipline to stay away after September ends!

So far, top 25 ranked teams that played unranked teams, in which there was a line available for the game, are 11-3 ATS.............

So, yeah, it definately depends on your handicapping style.

Of my five biggest plays yesterday, two were unders (Michigan and BYU) and one involved two unranked teams. The other two were USC (which was one of the most baffling lines I've ever seen) and Nebraska. So it's not like I was just pounding all the huge chalk with Joe Public and getting lucky.
