so, with my recent virus scare at home, a phishing call tonight saying there was unlawful use of my credit card, and just feeling I need this, who do you all use for identity theft protection?

What do I need to look for?

Dave Ramsey recommends one that I've looked at, but I'm not sure how good it is. It's only $140 a year. I've also seen the guy's social security number on the tractor trailer commercial (not sure that company name).

Thanks for any personal experiences or recommendations. I'm going to be getting it somewhere tomorrow.

Not entirely sure of this but I think I heard that Ramsey's shit was hacked.

There was indeed, a couple pages about this

Previous Thread

As I said in attached thread more worried about brokerage accounts than credits card.

What I did on brokerage accounts is had them put in my files I would never make withdrawal or money tranfer out of account online. I would always do it by phone and from certain telephone #/

Per credit cards--someone got info on wife--shes to trusting--and opened up phone account with cingular in alabama--I got call from cingular (at home) that wifes phone account was overdue--
I said "not" I pay her phone bill along with mine everymonth--went through wifes name- birthdate blah blah blah and they were right on every point until we got to address in alabama--he said oh oh and transfered me to cinguar fraud division--went through same thing except address and phone # in bama--which I hadn't written down--I had pen this time and asked for addy and phone # and they wouldn't give it me. DRAT-was going to pay visit on next golf trip down that way.

Anyway fraud division gave me # to call that put her account on alert with big 3 credit agencies for believe a year. Have # somewhere and will call again soon and put both on on alert and plan to on yearly basis--and its free.
