to be honest, have never gone ice fishing.

if you know how to ice fish, i mean really know how, it is one of the granded things in life to do. In the fishing hut in 10 below temps with your shirt off as the sun just bakes the black ice fishing huts on the water. Watching down the hole in shallow water and watching the huge crappies take your ice fishing jigs all the way in their mouths and then hooking them and pulling them up through your little 4-6" cut hole in the ice. One of the best times to remember with my father when he was alive. As a young boy with my 3 older brothers dad would always have us out on the ice on the mississippi river at daylight. get up at 230 a.m. and drive two hours to Lansing Iowa, stop and get a few eggs at the restaurant at an old little river town and then wake the bait shop owner up at 5 am to head out to my fathers favorite holes before anyone else would be there. Dad fell through the ice more than once trying to get us to the best fishing on thin ice where he thought the crappies and blue gills would be. Ahhh the memories guys, if you have'nt tried it , you should put it on your bucket lists. This made my day thinking about my dad in fun times back in the 70's and eighties. Thank you!
