You are mistaken. I was on notre dame 2h and it was a clear violation, by the player coming in from the 3 pt line.

Anyone from the Pittsburgh area old enough to remember this play?

" Pitt-West Virginia for the Eastern Eight tournament championship in 1982. A crowd of 16,056 packed into the Civic Arena on a Saturday night, even though the game was televised. The Mountaineers came in 26-2, had won the conference regular-season title and had beaten Pitt in two close games ...

The game at Fitzgerald Field House that season had ended with Pitt officials angrily chasing the referees into their dressing room. Referee Jack Prettyman had called a lane violation on Pitt star Clyde Vaughan that wiped out a critical Panthers' free throw with 14 seconds left. Chipman got a technical foul, and Pitt lost, 48-45.

You should have heard Chipman after the game. "My kids got cheated."

You should have heard Catlett. "There was no controversy on that play. It was a lane violation."

And you should have heard Catlett, as a topper, upbraid Chipman for losing his cool late in a close game, even though he knew full well he, too, would have gone berserk if the same call had gone against him in Morgantown."

I knew the referee and the guy who rode to the game with him.

Weak call ! Dont care about ifs. Let the kid decide from foul line. If he has stones to make both let teams decide in OT

i hate the call yesterday and today regardless of which side I am on...funny they never call this shit until the last 30 seconds of a game....i'll sleep good knowing that the refs are so important and can pick and choose what they want to call...2 other lane violations occurred during that game if you run the tape back yet they weren't called.

I had Xavier ML was so was thrilled it was called, but was shocked. However, it's the rule and if refs are going to call it, these kids have to adjust. Same thing happened to NC-Asheville, but even worse was Asheville not getting the ball when the Syracuse guy clearly touched hit it out of bounds late in the game. Asheville should have the ball down 3 instead forced to foul and game over. That ref should be checked... it was one of the worst calls I have ever seen.

it has nothing to do with a wager. this is a fan of NCAAB saying that was a feeble call. Someone said what if he missed it? thats when the whistle should blow. Was a swish. What matter was it? you were lucky that the refs interfered. Game was destined for OT.
