If OU plays USC tomorrow on a neutral field, what is the spread?

theyve all shown chinks, on any given day, etc ...

dont like OUs defense much anymore, stoops missing his Lil bro ...

auburn has been most consistent of late ...

gawd knows who I'd play ... I have usc +500 for marbles and usc +150 not to lose reg season game/made at mid season ....

do think that if Cal had not lost WR Linman (misspelling it im sure) and a couple of others, they might be as tuff or tuffer than anyone ...

gun to head, Id take USC b/c they have the good BUSH and no one else does

i really hope aub beats geo this weekend. because they will finish undefeated if they do. no team will crush auburn. they 2 1st rd rb's, and a qb that is playing better this yr than his prior 3.

H ow can a team as good as OU play as badly as they did against TAMU? After all, this is a team that lost against the Baylor bearturds. Nobody motivates better than Stoops. He finds a way to win. I don't know which team wins in this 3 team round-robin. All other factors being equal, at game time the field coach I'd put my money on is Stoops, Stoops, and Stoops in that order.

Lines would be as follows:

Southern Cal -3.5 vs okie
Southern Cal-12 vs aub
Southern Cal- 16.5 vs wisc
Okie -8 vs Aub
Okie-13 vs Wisc
Aub-5 vs Wisc

Cal would be a TD or more favorite over Aub and Wisc and would be getting 5 points from So Cal and would be a 1 point dog to Okie.

Utah is too hard handicap but I believe they would be a 10 point dog to USC, a 8 point dog to Okie, 7 point dog to Cal and a pick-em against Aub but a favorite of 5 against Wisc!

Auburn
It will be very interesting to see if Auburn wins out , will they jump Oklahoma in the BCS. In the most recent BCS, Oklahoma now has the #1 computer ranking and has drastically closed the gap with USC.

Regardless of what happens, if Auburn is able to make it into the Orange Bowl, I'm not sure how you would not see logic in taking them in the points. They have been the most consistent team week end and week out thus far. The balanced offense this year should be able to put up the points necessary to match any USC or Oklahoma's high powered offenses. Auburn's defense has played extremely well thusfar and should keep the game close and give Auburn an excellent chance to win out right. This is all being extremely presumptious and we will just have to see how this all shakes out.

First, Auburn must survive this week against Georgia before even thinking about anything else.

Dr Freeze

How do you think Georgia is the best team in the country when they lost to a 2 loss Tenn team at home and on top of that was pretty much completely dominated in the game?? They have also had 4 other close close calls. I just dont see it. I sort of understand Auburn but their biggest win was over Tenne and they just got beat at home by an average ND team. If Aubun wins the remaining game I def think you bump them up. Just wondering their reasoning; Keep up with the great picks.

dont forget Perkins will be back and Bassey has been benched after Stoops removed a redshirt for 2nd half against A&M

Sooner secondary has looked horrible but i wouldn't bet against it being revamped and ready after 1 month prep...Stoops is awefully good at defensive planning given an extended time to work

bbk i think the SEC is the best football by far and away with the big12 and ACC a distant 2nd.....

Georgia and Auburn being the best two....many great teams have bad weeks and that doesn't mean they aren't the best team....the best team doesn't always win the title either

I completely agree about the SEC but getting dominated at home is absolutely unacceptable and their is no excuse for that and Georgia could easily have 2 to 3 losses. I just dont see Georgia maybe Auburn but Georgia looks less than impressive; last week against a horrible Kentucky game is the only game they have looked really really good all year
Respect your opinion and agree about OU if they make it the NC game the secondary should be back at full force. It was amazing how in the 2nd half after having a terrible 1st half without Bassey in there they completely shut down A&M and OU's secondary looked very good.

If AU wins out and wins impressively, then I think AU should be placed ahead of OU. OU has not impressed me at all this year to be placed ahead of AU. Everyone should remember that Texas A&M gave OU the ball at the start of the 3q on their own 10 yard line. =TD OU. Then A&M fumbled the ball on their own 20 or 30 yard line=== TD OU. OU had a LOT of help and STUPID mistakes by A&M. AU should be ahead of OU IF they win out. Just my opinion.

I have a question for AU fans. Nobody knows how the AU defense would do against USC or OU. I do not think AU has faced an offense like either USC or OU. That would be a major concern of mine if I was an AU fan going into the Orange Bowl against USC or OU. Even if you think AU has faced an offense as potent as USC or OU, they stilll have not faced an offense led by Leinart or White and great RB's like Peterson and Bush/White. In addition, USC has Norm Chow. Just something to consider. Has AU faced a defense as good as USC?

As for UGA being the best team in the country is a joke. I would not have UGA in my top 5. WHAT HAS UGA EVER DONE TO IMPRESS YOU? CAN UGA EVEN WIN A BIG GAME? You trust Greene as your QB? UGA often chokes in big games yet people love to tout that team and Richt. I don't get it but you can make a boat load of money betting against UGA because they tend to always under perform on the field. Great talent but bad coaching and execution.

As a USC fan I think OU would be a tougher opponent than AU. There are 2 reasons. #1 Stoops is a better coach than Tubby. #2 OU is a very balanced offense with a better passing QB (White)than AU (Campbell). RB's are basically a wash, but edge to AU RB's (depth).

Take a look at Auburns schedule and that will explain a lot. AU has played the #91 ranked SOS in the country. USC has played the #5 SOS and OU has played the #7 SOS. You should not be too impressed by AU.

Auburn
Scott,

I am not interested in getting into one of the many PAC-10 vs SEC debates that seem to be a part time occupation for you. However, I will be the first to admit Auburn's out of conference scheduling this year has been anything but difficult. Also, I will not discredit what USC has accomplished both this year and last (partly because I unfortunately still remember the ass whipping USC handed Auburn, in Auburn last year). I do feel Auburn has a much better offensive attack this year with Borges calling an impressive gameplan thusfar.

I agree with you that Auburn should pass OU if they win out and do so convincingly. I personally would love to get a shot at USC in the Orange bowl and feel that it will be a great game. However, the Trojans will not breeze through to the Orange Bowl, both Notre Dame and UCLA could present challenges if USC plays like they did against Oregon State (I'm not buying the fog as an argument or an excuse for last weeks game, both teams played under the conditions).

You always provide an interesting read Scott, even though most of the time I strongly disagree!
