If OU plays USC tomorrow on a neutral field, what is the spread?

Nice post and we both agree if AU runs the table, USC runs the table, and OU runs the table, AU should play USC.

If USC is fotunate enough to make it to the Orange Bowl and play AU, they will be playing a much tougher and different AU team they faced the last 2 years. However, USC is used to stopping Borges type offenses. Is AU used to stopping offenses like USC? That is the big question IMO. Both clubs have solid defenses. Would be a great game, especially if AU is able to throw the ball well against USC.

I am not too fearful of UCLA because of their lack of run defense. Hard enough to stop the USC offense with a great defense and UCLA has a horrible run defense. However UCLA has a great offensive talent.

ND game is getting a lot more interesting. In addition, both USC and AU will have faced Tenn. and since ND beat Tenn. @TN lets see how USC does against ND. Big time rivalry game so upset could very well happen.

Lastly, you should buy the FOG argument. USC coaches could not even see the other side of the field. It was hard for Carroll to adjust to the OSU personel. In addition, USC could not throw DEEP because of the FOG so OSU did not have to worry about that. Remember, USC wasmissing their #1 WR and #2 WR played hurt (knee sprain) and starting lineman (replaced by true freshman) for this game. All 3 will be healthy in 2 weeks.

Funny, Scott. One could say the same thing about USC's win over a crappy 4-5 Oregon State team. The Beavers were handing out gifts all over the field, and it still a took a Bush punt return TD for USC to win the game by 8 points.

USC has not impressed me AT ALL this year. The only good win was the Arizona State thrashing, and even that is not looking so good anymore.

The Trojans' only tough road game this year was against Va Tech, and it took a MAJOR screwup by the officials for USC to pull that one out.

Top 3:

1a) Auburn
1b) OU
3) USC

I agree Master; USC is lucky Cal and Az state didnt lose they would rename the PAC 10 the Toilet 9
Except for USC they are pretty good. However USC would be lucky to finish 3rd in the Big XII south and maybe 2nd or 3rd in the SEC east or west. :142lmao: :142lmao: :142lmao:

Master Capper & BBK

Both of your posts crack me up but you have the right to your opinion. I would argue USC would have a MUCH easier time playing OU's or AU's schedule. Unfortunately for both of you the numbers support my opinion and not yours. Big 12 being better than the Pac 10? NO WAY SEC may be slightly better than the Pac 10, but no way is AU's schedule tougher than USC's. NO WAY

Once again, both of you love to share your opinions but you seem to never have any substance supporting them.

However USC would be lucky to finish 3rd in the Big XII south and maybe 2nd or 3rd in the SEC east or west.

That is just plain STUPID!

Scott, do us all a favor and list the games played between Pac 10 and Big 12 teams.

Then list the scores.

Then tell us how those numbers SUPPORT your contention that the Pac 10 is better than Big 12.

This oughtta be good. (and by 'good', I mean 'fukking ridiculous')

Outside of Cal, Oklahoma would have an easy time with any Pac 10 team on a neutraul and Scott is too myopic to see this. Has the Pac 10 beat a Big 12 team this year? Scott will come back well Oklahoma would have a hard time with ASU which is sort of lame since ASU peaked by game 5 and has been in a downward trend since then. Okie already lambasted Oregon which is arguably the 4th best Pac 10 team. Scott, would USC be able to run the table in the Big 12 South? I highlyt doubt they would be able to run a gauntlet of Okie, Okie St, Texas, A@M, Tech and at this point Baylor is a better team than three of the teams in the Pac 10. Scott, be a man and answer the man's question on what is the Pac10's record against the big 12 this year?

Great post Master; you have the credibility to back it up; OU roasted Oreg and Oreg should have beat Cal at home as a 22 pt dog; what a joke :142lmao:
Capper you hit the nail on the head

Master Capper it is not a good thing when BBK is praising you. Guess what, your argument is FLAWED!

You said "OU outside of CAL on a neutral field would have an easy time in the Pac 10"

Then you say "I highly doubt [USC] would be able to run a gauntlet of Okie, Okie St, Texas, A@M, Tech"

THAT IS A FLAWED AND UNEDUCATED ARGUMENT!

My argument was USC would have an easier time playing OU's or AU's schedule. Your counterargument is COMPLETELY BOGUS! Why would USC play OU when USC is playing OU's schedule? OU plays OU??? When you were comparing OU to USC's schedule you left out USC. Start using your brain when you attempt to support your opinion.

COMPARE OU's schedule to USC's schedule. This is the same flawed argument people use with the SEC. They say, look at tough AU's has it playing in the SEC. USC could not go undefeated playing Tenn., AU, FL, Georgia, LSU etc. But there is NO TEAM IN THE SEC THAT PLAYS ALL THOSE TEAMS! SO PEOPLE THAT USE THAT ARGUMENT ARE BONEHEADS! AND OFTEN THE TEAM THAT THEY ARE HYPING UP IS THE BEST TEAM IN THE CONF. It is hilarious debating with all of you.

When I compare teams SOS, I compare the whole *ucking schedule. OU and AU would have a harder time playing USC's schedule and USC would have an easier time playing OU's and AU's schedule. The numbers support my opinion and your attempt to back up yours was FLAWED!

Then the kicker was BBK praising you. :142lmao:
Both of your bias against the Pac 10 and USC is hilarious. When you both try and support your opinion you use flawed arguments.

Team and conf. Strength of Schedule, home/away wins, conferance rankings, etc. all support my opinion.

You are the one who needs to support your opinion. I already have the #'s supporting mine.

Funny how you demand me to post #'s supporting my opinion when you have provided NOTHING to support yours. Decided to spend 10-15min. on this and here are some #'s I crunched up.

Jeff Sagarin computer ratings

USC SOS #5 in the country
OU SOS #7 in the country

USC's remaining schedule is tougher than OU's. I think you or the majority would agree.

USC 5 road wins!
OU 3 road wins!

OU's 1st road game was on Oct. 16th while USC's 1st road game was their very first game of the year across country against current top 25 ranked V-Tech. 65+k Hokie favs vs 10k+ USC fans. USC played 3 road games out of their first 4 games of the year. OU started their year 4 straight home games.

USC toughest opponent CAL. OU's toughest opponent Texas. I think CAL would smoke Texas. Just my opinion.

Average Pac 10 team SOS = 10.4
Average Big 12 team SOS = 26.5

Jeff Sagarin Conference Rankings

1 PAC-10
2 BIG 12
3 ATLANTIC COAST
4 I-A INDEPENDENTS
5 BIG TEN
6 SOUTHEASTERN

Love how Scott talks about flawed arguments and then sights that the rankings that he uses ranks the collective might of Notre Dame, Navy, Florida Int'l, and Florida Atlantic over the SEC.

Jeff Sagarin??? That's where you get your numbers???

Anyone with half a brain can look at those rankings and tell they are WHACKED!

Good lord.

Here's another SOS ranking that says Jeff Sagarin doesn't know what the hell he is talking about:

http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/Internet...9games_cumm.pdf

10. OU
25. Auburn
37. USC

BTW, here are those Big 12/Pac 10 games:

OSU 31 @ UCLA 20

Oregon 7 @ OU 31

Colorado 20 @ Washington State 12

Big Twelve - 3
Pac Ten - 0

And here is a snippet of a post I found on an OU board which breaks down the three teams' schedules pretty well (granted, with an OU bias - but the facts speak for themselves):

Top Teams
OU has played 1 team in the top 10; 3 in the top 25; and 6 teams that are either ranked or receiving votes in the AP poll.
USC has played 1 team in the top 10; 3 teams in the top 25; and 3 teams that are either ranked or receiving votes in the AP poll.
Auburn has played 0 teams in the top 10; 2 teams in the top 25; and 2 teams that are either ranked or receiving votes. This could change to be a little more favorable if Auburn beats Georgia and that is a big "if."
Conclusion - OU has by far the most difficult schedule, followed by USC and then Auburn

Difficult Venues
OU has also played 2 of the 6 away from home and 1 of the teams in a neutral site.
USC has not played a single ranked team in an away stadium! 1 neutral game and 2 at home.
Auburn has played 1 team away and 1 at home. This weekend they get Georgia at home.
Conclusion - OU again has the most difficult schedule and has had to play in the most hostile environments, followed by Auburn and then USC

Close Calls
OU has had two close calls. Both OSU and A&M threatened to push OU into overtime, but neither team could convert on a hail mary and a missed 50 yard field goal
USC has had three close calls. California completely dominated USC, but lost when Rodgers became human and USC held the receiver in the end zone. Stanford blew a huge lead and USC won by 3, and VaTech dominated three quarters and lost momentum and eventually the game on a phantom offense interference play
Auburn has had one close call by squeaking by at home against a subpar LSU team on a missed PAT. It is tough to have close calls against a schedule like that. Louisana Monroe, the Citadel? What happened did Grenada have to back out due to another war?

Conclusion - OU has been the furthest from losing, but I guess Auburn has had the least number of close calls, followed by OU and then USC

If AUBURN runs the table this could be a horserace for FED EX BID

If AUBURN runs the table this could be a horserace for FED EX BID

AUBURN TIGERS :

I'm not knocking this team but they are playing 7 home and 4 road this year.
We all know the SEC is one of the tuffest conferences.
BUT AUBURNs sked is kind of weak.

They have played outside :

UL MONROE
LA. TECH
CITADEL

INSIDE:
A SAD...... KENTUCKY and MISS. STATE teams.

HOWEVER they have two great road wins over TENN and OLE MISS. And a home win over LSU ( not to shabby either ).

We will know more after they play Georgia. I do think they are getting better as the season goes on.

Really, doesn't this sked look a little weak ? And what's up with the lopsided home and away 7/4 ?

WE see some type of UPSET these last games we are going to see some leapfrogging.

BUT I would have to say if AUBURN runs the table with Georgia and Alabama and SEC TITLE ..They would most certainly deserve a FED EX ORANGE BOWL BID.
