Not getting into conspiracy crap....But Washington was winning that game no matter what...Books knew it by making gascan Haren a fav and the shooting in DC yesterday.....So yes Simmons tanked that play.

Well yeah I would say Simmons had 2 hits plus he had no idea the ball would be hit to him. I was off today and took a nap after 8th but seen replay
We all knew Washington was going to win after Gattis hit a 2 run bomb in the 8th inning for a 4 to 3 lead.......then the top of 9th Johnson leads off with a single to left and for some unknown reason Harper from left field tries to throw to first base to get Johnson out and throws the ball away to let Johnson get to second base........and with 2 outs and Johnson on third base Desmond botches an easy ground ball and the Braves score to make it 5 to 3..... In comes Kimbrel and 2 walks, an infield hit and a 2 run error the Braves lose 6 to 5 with the Nats getting a total of 4 hits the entire game......Just one of those weird games in a long season
