Read it....
Do you see where it says:

"Two men, a professional hunter and a farm owner, face poaching charges in Zimbabwe in connection to Cecil's death. Killing the lion was illegal, because the farm owner didn't have a hunting permit, according to a joint statement from the Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Authority and the Safari Operators Association.

The hunters used a dead animal tied to their car to lure Cecil out of the national park, according to the Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force."

ALL THIS MAKES IT ILLEGAL !!!!

ok so the farm owner did not have a permit.. what`s that do do with
Palmer?

These are all guide service doings?? Do you really think he paid 50,000 and had to bait his own hunt? Yes they had to remove the tracking collar..what else was there to do?

His illegal hunting in the past is just that in the past.

His previous illegal hunting is proof that he is either 1) willing to break the law or at least 2) not ignorant of the law. Either way, there is no excuse on his part - none at all. Just because he throws 50 grand at the guides doesn't absolve him from responsibility.

It's amazing to me how many hunters are completely ignorant and will do or say just about anything to prove they are entitled to hunt anywhere, anything at anytime of day or night. Greedy, blood thirsty pigs.

This had financial, ecological and moral wrong doings from the very start.

How any idiot comes to a conclusion that this wasn't illegal is beyond me....SMH

On the course!
The funniest thing about this whole ordeal, is that the people in Africa don't give a shit, but Americans do!

Thats hilarious ! What does that have to do with the killing ?

It has to do with Americans always sticking their noses where they don't belong.

This literally, isn't even a story over there. So, I ask you: Why is it a story here? Because we always have to have something to wring our hands over?

How do you know this to be true?

And if you are correct, what if the story was broadcast/reported on and the citizens of Zimbabwe were made aware of the situation? Do you still believe that they wouldn't care? Just curious.

I tend to believe that they would be deeply saddened by the news, if nothing else.

Peace! :)

Wrong. So wrong, it is all over the news in South Africa, friend of mine lives there and it has been all over the news. So get your facts straight. It was on all the talk shows in South Africa, so don't give me the "nobody in Africa cares" bullshit.

And even if I was the only person on earth that knew about this I'd still want to see a lion rip the dentist apart.

Who gives a fuck if it is a big story or no story at all. It happened.

Oh and by the way it is news in Zimbabwe, which is also in Africa.

Read some news that isn't from the Spin Factories over here. Those people are dirt poor and dying over there. The life of a lion doesn't hold much water to quite a few folks over there.

Here's one blurb. You can find plenty more.

So your argument is, because it isn't a story there and they are dirt poor and care less if animals are hunted to the point of extinction, which by all accounts is untrue, we shouldn't give a shit about it here? That makes perfect sense.

Let's turn a blind eye to the rain forests that are being depleted, crimes against humanity in other countries, global warming, animals being harvested to the point of extinction in other countries and on and on. Slaughter all the lions, elephants, rhinos, etc, etc.... Hell, why should we give a fuck about anything? We "wring our hands" over a lot of things that people could care less about in other countries.

The media coverage has nothing to do with the importance of this ecologically, financially and morally. Of course the media is going to jump on something that has gone viral in every aspect of social media. They'd be idiots not to. Let's not blame the media because it leaves an ugly taste in everyone's mouth. They didn't poach a lion illegally.

Americans account for well over 60% of the lion heads slain annually in Africa. I find that number alarming considering the dwindling population of lions globally.

Rich American trophy hunters are greedy pigs. This guy is no exception. Now the hunter has become the hunted. I have no sympathy for this asshole. I hope others will think twice about trophy hunting from here on out and if it took this story to go viral and the media to jump all over it, so be it.....

I guess if I was you or YZ I would stop watching or reading the media coverage. Africa has 54 countries & 23 still allow game hunting with S. Africa having canned hunts. If this can move more countries to shit can these hunts then it is well worth it. I feel that is important IMO not yours. I hope this post isn't leaning towards political, hate to see you run to Jack or IE to have it moved.
One last thing that blog of YZ's you can read in english & french only, I hope the majority of Aficans enjoyed the read.

Where it is real F ing COLD
Child molestors are the scum of scum, but I still don think they should be put in cages with lions. Castration, removal of the penis, chemical castration, and the death penalty are all fine with me. I really don't care about them, and I couldn't be a juror on a case where a dad killed a molestor of one of his own children. Maybe I will amend number 3, but again, I wasn't discussing child molestors. Above, We weren't talking about child molestors; we were talking about a dentist. Kickserv, you should have been around in Roman times. You would have loved to see those Christians thrown to the lions I'm quite sure.

I could be a juror if a dad killed a molestor, he would have no worries

Americans, huh? Wrong again. I received an email from my cousin in Spain about it. She didn't email me just to talk about that, but she is coming to NOLA in August and she mentioned it. Apparently, this is a big story where she is.
