Sure it is. You wishing for the torture and death of another person is sadistic.

I'm sorta with you on this one 65.
I get that most people saying he should be hunted down just like the lion are simply venting, but humans are violent and tend towards vigilantism and revenge, none of which are good qualities. In practice or in philosophy.

I also don't wish for evil criminals to be raped in prison. I find wishing things like that on people weird and sickening. But I suppose it's human nature.

On the other side but good luck with your play.

This lion situation has a known villain Starving kids, albeit more horrific than the loss of a lion, has no villain. Were a rich American directly responsible for starvation of millions of Africans or the malnourishment of thousands of American children, he would be vilified by most.

Fyi, I was told at lunch today that hardcore right wing radio hosts are using Saint's talking points without listing him as a source. :0corn

I have wished death on evil humans.....child rapists, school shooters, etc, but not for this crime. This crime merits a prison term imo, but not death penalty. In fact, I find it unreasonable to wish the death penalty on a human for killing this animal, even though it is a disgraceful crime.

I`m as conservative as most anybody on this site and I find this situation pathetic....

agree with the "venting" comment...I think people are upset and "most" have little use for other people who are cruel to animals(or any other living, breathing organism) just for the sake of being cruel...

this wasn`t about putting food on his table or making use of the carcass in any real way... ...by most accounts, this wasn`t even a legit "hunt".....it was some a-hole who had the financial wherewithal(reportedly 50 grand) to pay some natives to lure the lion out of the preserve so he could shoot it with an arrow and then put a bullet through it`s head at his leisure.....

there are no garments being made,no food being procurred..no thinning of an overpopulated species....no real reason other than some yingyang wanted to cut off a lion`s head and put it on his mantel...and he couldn`t even get that right...

I think that`s what get`s under some folks` skin...and it has little to do with starving children...it has to do with cruelty for sport....

It's a pretty unifying issue, most people are against animal cruelty especially in the name of 'fun'. It's so self-centered. To top it off this guys has the means to spend a shit ton of money to find an exotic way to fulfill his weird killing fantasies. And most people don't like or want to hear about rich shits who use their money on decadent things like this. I place humans far far above animals in my allegiance and concern, but this guy is basically an Ugly American (Human).

Poaching a lion of course has nothing to do with starving children. The analogy is that people care more about an animal's death than they do about a child or multiple children's deaths.

The other issue is people calling for the violent death of a man BC he killed a lion with a name. There's far more uproar here on this site for a dead animal than there is for dead people all the time.

1) poaching this lion was wrong, and the dentist should be prosecuted.
2) the dentist does not deserve death or torture.
3) animals are not equal to humans no matter how despicable the human is.
4) I support legal hunting endeavors.
5) I support full prosecution and penalties whether monetary, loss of privileges, or incarceration for crimes committed against animals, poaching, trespassing, or hunting out of season, and I personally have been involved in his process where I live.
6) if you support this dentist being put into a cage with a lion to meet his gruesome death head-on, you are a sick person.

I don't think I know one hunter. Hunting is much like religion, you are either brought up with it or you were not. If you were brought up with either hunting or religion then you believe in religion and in hunting. Just my opinion.

the media is all over this story....if they were all over stories like these(warning..really graphic pictures that can`t be unseen....think about it before viewing)

http://www.catholic.org/news/international/middle_east/story.php?id=56481&wf=rsscol

with the same vigor,i think you`d see a reaction that blows this lion/dentist issue off the charts..but for whatever reason, these horrors barely register a blip on their radar...

I disagree with bullet 3 vehemently.....imo,just because you were born to a certain species doesn`t give you the right to slaughter(people/animals) with impunity.....I`ll take that lion over the monsters that decapitate children and force their own children to decapitate their enemies....

do I think the dentist needs to die?...c`mon...we both know that kickserv was doing what kickserv does....... but at least it gave you the chance to change the actual focus of the issue....

*jack...if you need to zap my link,o.k... I get it...

My reaction to this killing of the lion & poaching is that when it comes their time I hope they have a slow & painful death. I have been involved with the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, we had the pleasure of visting the baby elephant / rhino orphanage in Nairobi last year. My heart & money have always been at trying to protect these magnificent animals. Also I wish the same kind of death to the scum who allow & profit from the sick ex & import of ivory.
