I've shared on here before my philosophy on these games. In brief, a great friend of mine that passed away way too young from a rare internal desease that had only 26 other documented cases used to have a phrase: "I'll pay to see!" That came into play whenever a play looked too strange and just like a setup, yet we couldn't find an angle to support the odd line. Today we have an example of such:
Tribe vs the No-Show Sox
973 CLEVELAND INDIANS (R) Tomlin, J -190 -168 / -158 / -160 -155 -1.5(-101)
974 CHICAGO WHITE SOX (L) Rodon, C 9.5o20 10 / 10u15 / 10 10u20 +1.5(-120)
My book has since just dropped it to -150. This is telling me to run like hell away from this game. But let's take a look at this matchup. Not just the men on the mound, but the 2 teams in general. Thanks to MOVER, look at this:
Tomlin is 3-0, 3.10 in his last three starts; over is 4-3 in his last seven. Indians are 3-5 in his road starts? their first 5-inning record with him: 5-10-4
Rodon is 1-4, 7.72 in five starts this year (over 2-1-2). Chicago is 0-2 in his home starts? their first 5-inning record with him: 1-4
Cleveland won its last nine games; over is 7-3 in their last ten. White Sox are 1-13 since All-Star Game; under is 5-2-1 in their last eight.
The trend is your friend! NEVER bet against a streak! These teams are definitely heading in opposite directions.
I can only figure that some reporter spotted Tomlin at a brothel unable to stand on his own at 4 am this morning......A line doesn't move like this for no reason so I am not telling you to place your hard earnded cash on the line, but I am telling you that this jackass is loading up on it today because............
I'M GONNA PAY TO SEE! Let's go TRIBE!
