how everybody is following the NE patriots blueprint for slowing down the Rams. Before the Superbowl, last year, the Giants and the Eagles both shut down the Rams Vaunted offense. The only difference was that they both lost the game. The funny thing is that the Giants and Eagles stopped the Rams O' with different philosophies. The Eagles Blitzed Warner and the Giants only rushed four lineman but Both teams had consistent pressure on Warner's ass. Pressure the Qb and shut down the Rams offense. Good thing NE thought of that. Since NE is today's football darling(I have nothing against the Pats)they are getting all the credit. Shouldn't the media do more research before proclaiming that one team has the "blueprint" for success against the Rams?

:nono:
I don't know why this issue bothered me, but it did.

Just to make you feel better the Patriots also have developed the blue print on how to beat the Steelers! Sorry couldn't resist!

Most of the talk about NE's "blueprint" is checking the receivers off the line, particularly on the slants, to upset the timing of the offense.

Those disruptions allowed NE to get pressure on the QB. Pressuring Warner was more of the end result than the cause.

In the cases you are referring to, I think an effective pass rush itself was the primary component in slowing them down. Didn't Strahan have a monster game against them last year?

However, all the talk about NE making the blueprint is kind of silly. Some people have said, "NE showed you need to punch 'em in the mouth early because they're all finesse." Well, no shit! Hit 'em early. Thanks, genious.

By the way, if I never hear "punch them in the mouth" again that's fine with me. What a dumb overused expression.

It seems like Warner's thumb has been bothering him for a while. Bruce was off last year, and Hakim is gone this year. Those could be important causes.

For that matter, the Rams might just be in a two-game slump and they're going to put up 35 a game for the next 6 weeks. Who knows?

No question about that Thunder. They deserve all the credit for the Steelers woes. The Steelers are probably elated that they have a bye week, this week, so they can figure out what to do against the pass. The good news for the Steelers is that not many teams have the talent, to succeed, like the Pats and the Raiders.
