SixFive,

You ask why a sports book representative is in here debating issues? Well, the purpose of my being here is to make players comfortable with Camelot and let them know that we are open to suggestions to better help serve our customer base. This process has worked very, very well and we received nothing but positive feedback from most of the players here. This is a formula that has worked extremely well for us at other forums, though for obvious reasons I will not name them here. Many players have expressed to me by phone and e-mail that they like the fact that Camelot participates in the forums and takes the time to interact with the customer base. If a large number of people share the view expressed here by you and "intimidator" then we will refrain from further interaction here. Just so everyone understands the history of our wagering options in auto racing...the only reason we added Cart Matchups and F-1 Qualifying Matchups was because it was requested here by a handful of posters from this very forum. Prior to our foray into Mad Jacks, we were not offering these two events and did so primarily as a service to the posters of this forum, which is why it is, at best, "ludicrous" to tell people they should be "warned" about Camelot because of this decision.

"Intimidator",

Let me get this straight because I'm having a hard time following your logic here...

You are saying that because we reach a decision to hire an auto racing expert to relieve me of those duties, then fire him after one week, that this indicates that players should questions our long term financial stability? You conveniently ignore the following:

1. We reached the decision to hire 1837 specifically because I did not have time to handicap a sport which represents about 0.1% of our overall volume. The decision to hire him was based solely on the need for a part-time employee who does nothing but auto racing. This decision was reached long before the decision to briefly drop the sport.

2. For reasons which should have been completely irrelevant to you and anyone else, and would have remained anonymous if not for his original post about the matter, a decision was made to relieve 1837 of his duties after one week. We CLEARLY state that the sports will return in a week or two once we find someone to replace 1837.

3. We offered the sports originally only per the request of some people from this forum and the VAST majority of books do NOT offer F-1 Qualifying or Cart race matchups. And we tell you that they will be back after a week or two.

4. Unlike most, or nearly all sportsbooks, we take the time to come in here and listen to the suggestions and potential criticisms of players. You will not find a book with more friendly or more accomodating customer service both on the phone or in these forums.

So in summary, I have no problem with you stating a complaint or making a suggestion, but to state that people should "look out for problems" with us or otherwise question our long term stability based on one issue when stacked up against the rest of the record...it's just grossly unfair, and any objective person who does not possess the "all books are out to f*ck us attitude" that you seem to possess would feel the same way.

Mark, I am one of those that has constantly applauded what you have done for punters. The customer service is excellent, everyone gets paid faster than I've seen at any book and you produce your own lines for golf and other secondary sports. I immediately recommend your book to all the enquiries I get about golf betting.

But I do have a problem with you branding me (and 1837) a cheat

That's is why I find your following point extraordinary ...

If you look at 1837's original post, all he does is say that I killed his lines on Saturday, that you no longer required his services and that you were stopping offering F1 & Cart lines. "Don't be sorry for me or for Camelot, c'est la vie no?" were his exact words.

The replies to that post were one of support to 1837 and nothing nasty UNTIL you accused the two of us of colluding to set you up with the F1 lines!

If I had bet more than my usual stakes per unit then that may be evidence of colluding, but I didn't.

If 1837 had kept the lines fixed until I placed my bets then that may be evidence of colluding, but he didn't. In four of my six plays, the line moved against me from the time I posted the plays to the time I made the wagers. One line moved 45 cents against me! Yet you still think we colluded

I am glad that you came to the forum to reassure us that F1 and Cart will be back before the end of the season, but nothing else was called for from 1837's initial post. He didn't attack you and your public attack on us was totally uncalled for. As you state above, it should not bea matter for public debate, but you made it so. Don't expect me to be happy about your very public allegations.

Stanley,

Thank you for the objective response. Introspection is a valuable and powerful asset, though not powerful enough to change what has already transpired. Upon reflection, I have concluded that there are many things that could have and SHOULD have been handled differently. For exampe, I think 1837's initial post in this thread should have been handled better without the attempt (real or accidental) to embarrass me...I think my initial post in this thread could have and SHOULD have been handled differently. We have already discussed this in private communications and I believe it is best left between you, me and 1837. As I have said, I think it is best that we move on to more productive topics.

I will thank you for being the only person to have the decency to state something positive in response to "Intimidator's" quasi-slanderous statement that people should "see a red flag" about Camelot from this whole event. In light of the fact that there has never been one complaint about our customer service and payment record in this or ANY forum, and the fact that "Intimidator" probably does not even play with Camelot...well...let's just say it lends SIGNIFICANT credibility to some words of advice I received from an OLD bookie in Costa Rica who told me to NEVER participate in the forums because no matter how well you treat players, they'll still have an underlying hatred of you because you're the bookie and they will "turn on you" on any close call.

Mark, just to clarify, I did NOT post that people should be warned about dollars at your book. I even gave u props on your payouts as I have several friends that play at Camelot who have been paid fast, and I also said that is the most important thing, getting paid if and when you do win.

So, please reread my post as I did not "slander" u and say that people should beware of Camelot. Intimidator did not say that either. Reread his post as well as he was talking about 5dimes and their handling of a NASCAR bet. That's what I was referring to when I said I hoped he didn't have too many dollars in that book, not your book. Comprende? I have no problem with your book's customer service and payout promptness.

What started my whole interest in this thread really was you saying this, "In fact, I am NOT in business to beat customers." I still find that laughable and dishonest.

I don't see a book representative as being a buddy or a friend. I see them as an enemy so to speak who wants to take my money and in turn whos money I want to take. That's why I was questioning the motives of you posting in a gambling forum.

Anyway, please know that I did not "warn" people about your book or question u being sound financially as I have no knowledge of that. I will continue to warn people about 5dimes, however, as I do have specific knowledge of them lying and slow paying with 2 of my friends. Good luck.

SixFive,

Wow, I'm sorry if you that I meant you...I did not. I was talking strictly about the statements made by "Intimidator" not you. If you read what HE said and repeated in a second post...Camelot's behavior here was a "red flag" about long term propsperity and security. I completely understand that this was not your intention, but it was very obviously his intention and that's why I am slightly upset at his statements because they are very unfair.

So if you thought I was referring to you in that post, I was not...which is why I addressed the first more polite paragraph to you and the second more serious paragraph to "Intimidator"

I have never played there. The reason for going there in the first place was because of your racing and golf lines. I ussually do not have much to say but to be a watch dog for people who have less time than me . I commend you on your quality reputation in regards to payouts, as we all know that is of the utmost importance. The red flag I threw up was the way you handled 1837 publically along with your reasons for removing lines..these are huge flags. Maybe you don,t see it that way but they are. As for your sportsbook...I commend the excellent
revues for payouts and customer service. I just ask that you don,t put up a sport only to take it down because QUOTE you don,t have time and you got destroyed by 1837 lines. I think Stanley explained the fact there was no colusion it was just a day to be beat and 1837 took the brunt of it.

Again keep up the solid work and try to keep the solid racing and golf lines coming throughout the years. I think you have tried to repair any damage and for this I commend you. I also appoligise if you missunderstood any motive of mine. I have none. I play poker for a living so I am here all the time lurking and living. Good luck to all!

Intimidator....RIP Dale
