Mark, why is it that Olympic, WSEX, 5Dimes, Royal, Direcbet, GCS to name a few can still offer lines for F1? If you are not in the business to beat customers, you would too.

Just checked in to see what was cookin and am just now reading all the above.
Interesting!Seems several books have taken a can't beat em join us avenue of late.Spiro just hired my long time bud Joser to handle their props,1837 gets the cars,Stans site is premier site for setting golf lines and would venture a quess he too has probably had some offers.Being a capper of cappers gives me a sense of pride to know I've been coat-tailing the best

Pnanda,

Like I said above, we will be adding F-1 and Cart again as soon as I find a new line manager specifically allocated for those two sports. By the way, there is about 200 sports books out there that do NOT offer one or both of these sports. We go out of way to offer a very wide variety of wagering options, much more so than virtually anyone else in the business, and this is simply a matter of me not having the time to do it with Football season getting underway. Even at our peak a few weeks back, the bets we write for all weekly events F-1 and Cart combined do not equal one NFL pre-season game let alone a regular seaon contest, so in terms of allocating my time as an oddsmaker, it simply did not add up anymore which is why I tried to hire 1837 and will now hire another oddsmaker for these sports.

Bluegrass!
Mark....

No Einstein here, but why don't ya just take the lines from the other books that are offering Cart & F1 matchups?

Neemer,

At the risk of sounding like a boy scout, that's just plain wrong and nearly amounts to stealing. If you take a look at the other stuff we offer, you can definitely see that we do not clone other people's lines. Besides, who's to say their lines are any good?

Any reputable book would have lines makers ect. If you draw in people to play a sport you do not just drop it for the rest of the season. i recently placed a bet at another book which I am also going to name here..5dimes..on a nascar match up . They had the audacity to take the bet down after my opponents car wrecked in practice and had to go to a back up. Well to say the least first they moved the lines from -1.15 to -1.35 but then they took the lines down completely after getting hit with large amounts of bets. Our money being wagered in 3rd world countries are at the integrity of the books. And this book appears to have broken the integrity rule. Mark this will only cost you customers over the fact you were hit 1 week by some sharp people. Now to take there out away for this reason is stupid. Folks be careful of who you wager with cause there are very few honest shops out there.

You wanna talk about ridiculous responses????????????? You comment on a post I make about wanting to do the honorable thing and not clone people's lines and using my comments there (which should make you think highly of a book) to question my integrity? What do I have to do with what happened to you at another sportsbook? And why would my stating that I won't clone someone else's line have anything but POSITIVE things to say about our integrity?

Everybody who has been on this forum who has played with us and everyone ANYWHERE that has played with us has received every payment ever owed...on time without delay, yet you're willing to come in here and question my integrity based on a post which people like you SHOULD find reassuring rather than troubling. Also, if you had taken the time to read the entire thread you will take note that we will in fact bring back both Formula One and Cart in the coming weeks as soon as we hire another handicapper for those sports.

But in summary, your post was grossly unfair to Camelot...to say that we are not reputable (your exact choice of words) because we choose to temporarily discontinue offering a wagering option is both unfair and a complete misrepresentation of the facts.

Stanley,

With all due respect, the two issues are completely unrelated. You guys should be concerned with the real issues that are important like...did people get paid and paid on time. Whatever differences I currently have with 1837 I am certain he would be glad to tell you that he was just yesterday paid exactly what he requested, immediately.

No, the real issue here is whether "Intimidator" made a fair statement and i ask your opinion, objectively, was what he said fair? To question someone's integrity because they don't OFFER (for one to two weeks) a sport? That's not constructive, that's not informative, that's not objectively reasonable, it's just plain vindictive.

Jack, now do you see what I was talking about?

My response is to your audacity to stop taking wagering on F1 racing cause you can not get lines up because it takes to much of your time and it cost you a bundle when 1837 did the lines for you last week. I made no comment about cloning lines I would not do that either. But your business is to represent your customers decently. And by removing lines cause you got beat up is like a customer asking for his money back cause he got beat up. Totally unacceptable. As far as the other book went, I was only asking people to watch out for this type of customer abuse. It should have no bearing on your book . You managed to put your foot in your own mouth. Hire a decent person to create lines and don,t jump off the ship when things go bad 1 week. I do not know 1837 whatso ever but I am willing to bet he did the best he could for you and stuff happens.

Excuse me I commented on you removing lines for the rest of the year and having a lame excuse of not enough time and taking a beat ver the last weekend. I have not said one word about anything to do with cloning lines.
That is ludicris. Do you treat all your people with such hogwash.

why is a book representative even in a betting forum debating these issues?

I have heard that Spiro dropped several hundred thousand dimes on NBA hoop props. That didn't stop him from offering those lines. He just hired that guy that beat him so bad and sharpened up. That's what u attempted to do with 1837, but firing him after 1 week and stopping the lining of a sport is laughable, and I think that's the Intimidator's point (Intimidator, hope u don't have too many dollars at that book u mentioned!).

I do applaud u though, Mark, on paying people out promptly. After all, that IS the most important thing when choosing a sportsbook.

Anyway, football has started, and u should make a mint on that as the public sheep are now lining up. But then again, you aren't trying to beat us, right??

Then also giving the reason he doesn,t have time to do the lines. Excuse this is your business MAKE TIME. The example I gave of the the book is for the bettors here to beware. The way this is being handled puts up a huge red flag and I am asking people to beware...nothing more.
